The Celtics post Rondo

http://thefarmclub.net/2013/01/28/danny-ainge-must-ride-the-storm/

I've probably already missed this on these forums since I haven't checked since Saturday but what does everyone thing the C's need to do now that Rondo is out?

The guy in the article above thinks they should keep Pierce and Garnett and make a run this season. They could ask the Hawks about Devin Harris or the Lakers about Duhon/Blake. I saw on CBS that they were looking at Kyle Lowry from Toronto.

I agree that they shouldn't blow it up because they are still good enough to make it to the Eastern Conference Finals without Rondo.

You think they are good

You think they are good enough to make it to the eastern conference finals WITHOUT rondo? They are below .500 WITH Rondo playing. He is by far the best player on that team and really the only true point guard they have. They might still squeeze into the playoffs as the 8th seed if they can stay ahead of the Sixers, Pistons, and Raptors but even then that's just going to be a 1st round exit against the HEAT.

This might be the 20th Thread

This might be the 20th Thread about Celtics life after Rondo....Magic Johnson and some others have suggested that Ainge should trade KG & Pierce, becuz Rondo was such a huge part of their offense.....But i cant see Doc wanting to be a part of any rebuilding next season..

Doc,KG and Pierce have too much pride and are too competitived to ever consider quitting...I bet they've already talked to management about bringing someone in to help them to try to make another run...

I think they might go after 1 of the Raptors point guards either Lowry or Calderon..Or go after 1 of Utah's bigs....This season it appears as though the Celtics were just going through the motions, they werent playing with any purpose,it seems as though they werent having fun anymore.....

Celtics

Were two games under 500 at allstar brake last year. Who should they be scared of in the east besides Miami? Yes they are a playoff type team. One game then a day to rest. Plan to play one team best out of seven yeah they will he good at that. Dint let regular season fool you. So what no Rondo. That teams real deep. Play it out. Maybe make one small move.

Rondo is a great player and I

Rondo is a great player and I am by no means taking anything away from him with what I'm about to say but in reality the Celtics can be just as good without Rondo. Defensively they might slip because he is a very good on ball defender but they have enough talent behind him where if they bring in another veteran PG that it won't be that big of a drop off.

Watch and see.

The Celtics are my favorite

The Celtics are my favorite team. Personally, I want Pierce to remain a Celtic until he retires. I like the idea of trading for Devin Harris. Harris for Jeff Green works and I feel like it'd be a beneficial trade for both teams.

I know Prime

Jeff Green for Harris? Rethink that one. Green is what they need to deal with Lebron. Not smart. Not going to happen. Green was the only guy Lebron struggled to score on. I am keeping Green just for Lebron.

Green is good for LeBron, but

Green is good for LeBron, but chances are, LeBron will get his anyway. If we can't get a decent PG, then LeBron is the last of our problems. All we have right now our undersized shooting guards.

They were dwindling at .500

They were dwindling at .500 with Rondo, even if they somehow squeeze into the playoff picture, they are a first round exit, Rondo created easy baskets for them in transition especially but throughout the entire game and other then an aging and washed up Pierce, nobody on that team can consistently create their own shot. They cant even commit to the defensive end enough to make up for their complete lack of offense. Ainge isn't stupid and already realized that this group had its time, and before Rondo went out already was exploring trade possibilities, Rondo's injury was simply just a catalyst to speed up the process. They need a number one option to complement Rondo and his passing abilities its just a matter of whether they can use their limited pieces to pull off a trade to get that guy, or clear out their horrendous contracts with KG and Pierce and begin losing to try and rebuild through the draft around Rondo for future seasons. Either way, their future for the next couple of years is looking pretty bleak.

they don't have many trade

they don't have many trade pieces but if they can get a player like tyreke evans that would help.they need a go to player someone to just get them buckets.unless they tank next season and try to get a high draft pick in 2014 draft lol

Tank and pray

Bring Fab up from the DLeague. Play he and Sully more and KG less. Play Bradley at the point and see what he can do. Cut PPs minutes to 25-28 so Green can play more 3.
