mazah13ParticipantThe Celtic’s need to come away with either Embid, Parker, or Exum. Wiggins looks like a bust with his lack of emotion and Randle plays the same position as Sullinger. It’s tough but if I had to rank them it would be 1.Parker 2.Embid 3. Exum. Parker gets knocked for his athleticism but it’s not bad just not elite. He more that makes up for it through intelligence, determination, and nifty moves – just like Paul Pierce. Embid could turn out to be scary good but his back injury is a concern and there’s options through free agency over the next 2 years I.E Monroe, Lamarcus Aldridge, Marcin Gortat, Asik, Chandler, Al Jefferson, Deandre Jordan, Roy Hibbert, and Marc Gasol. The SFcrop is considerably weaker.
Either way I would be more than alright with any of these 3. What do you think?

The QParticipantI want Embiid, then Wiggins, then Exum.
But I’m the HR swinging type for the draft.

burgessfourParticipantif they get Embiid, Parker or Wiggins next year will be a lot different for the Celtics, assuming the young players
take a step up and Rondo is healthy.

WalkaFlockaParticipantWith Ainge running this team, you can’t predict the draft until it actually happens…

mazah13ParticipantThere’s been many "Sure Fire" prospects who have flopped. I’m sure Wiggins will be a good player but I don’t think he’s the superstar people are making him out to be. He’s got amazing physical gifts but floats around like a zombie out there. Not somebody I want on my team.

Andrew1984ParticipantJabari Parker would be so perfect them. I say lock up Rondo long-term and make a strong run at Gordon Hayward in free agency to reunite him with Brad Stevens. Play Hayward at the two and bring Avery Bradley as energy-off-the-bench guy. Move Jeff Green to the four with Kelly O. as a stretch five. Rondo-Hayward-Parker-Green-KO. Pressey, Bradley, Bass, Sullinger off bench.

Kevin6CDParticipantWiggins is a bust because he doesn’t yell and scream and get excited? I’m guessing you were the only heartbroken person when Glen Davis got traded to Orlando.

mazah13ParticipantYou don’t have to yell and scream to be determined, ala Kevin Durant. To me, Wiggins has neither. He looks like he had a lobotomy. Not trying to be that guy but, did you watch any of his games? The guy floated around and missed alot more big shots than made. Sure he got his stats, had a few huge nights, and will probably be a good player, but not a superstar. Give me Parker any day of the week.

Jayhawks2011Participant@andrew that team may not get a rebound or a stop all year. Rondo is the only good defender in that group, and he’s coming off a hurt knee. Lots of outside shooting but no gerth

Andrew1984ParticipantDisagree. Rondo is one of the best rebounding PGs, Jabari Parker led the ACC in rebounding as a freshman, and KO’s rebounding will improve. Plus Sully would still log pretty solid minutes off the bench.
Props for using the word girth, though.

CavFanPRParticipantI think they’ll take Parker if they get a top three pick. If he’s not available, they go for Wiggins. They’ve taken a big man in the first round of the last two drafts.

HomerKangParticipantIf the draft standings remain the same on draft day the way they are today, and the players get picked in the order predicted, then I’m pretty sure they’ll go for Smart or Exum to replace Rondo pretty soon.

Bostoncelticsforlife9ParticipantI want the c"s to get Embiid so bad . I just started watching g nba in 2009 and since then the celtics have been my fav team but I’ve never watch the celtics with a true domanint C they’ve always had stretch 4"s playing C besides perk so I would love it if the c’s pick him

HitsterParticipantIf we assume the Celtics stay at 5 on the draft then it is quite hard to figure how Danny Ainge plays it. If we assume the big 3 have gone and say one of Exum, Smart and Randle at 4 then if Rondo is part of the Celtics long term planning and they think he’ll resign that rules out Smart so it might be one of Exum or Randle at 5th pick.
Randle has nice upside but Sullinger is looking a solid NBA player already and with Bass there, can they justify taking him I wonder plus he is considered a bit undersized for a PF in some quarters rather like Bass and Sullinger. That said Bass expires next summer and might be traded and Randle has come off an NCAA run with UK so would need to be considered seriously.
Exum would give the Celtics nice size at SG and would be a safety net in case anyone gave Bradley a big offer that the Celtics chose not to match. Exum could play with Bradley around Rondo and Brad Stevens would have a 3 man back court who could all do the ball carrying. My concerns about Exum would be does having a 2nd combo guard on the roster mean they lose out by not having a true SG alongside Rondo and do all the guys perhaps need the ball to be really effective. If we assume Rondo is the main ball carrier then how good would Exum and Bradley be off the ball and who does point offence when Rondo isn’t on court.
I would not personally consider Vonleh for the Celtics unless they saw him as a defensive PF given they already have Green and Crash Wallace as SF’s and PF scoring in Sullinger. Although Vonleh is one of the youngest in the draft and has great upside.
Anyone else would be a reach at 5 IMO. So at the moment I’d favour Exum for the Celtics.

aramboneParticipantI’m not sure Smart or Gordon, or possibly even Saric or Nurkic, would be a reach at 5.
