I’m not sure why there are people, including those we see and hear on the networks, that are implying the Celtics are having trade scenarios that would land them Anthony Davis. If I am New Orleans, there is no trade I would except for any of the Celtics assests for Anthony Davis (he is signed through the 2019-20 season with a player option of $28 million for 2020-21). Those assests include the future first round picks the Celtics are said to be aquiring from the Sixers in an upcoming trade.

Just a hypothetical, you wouldn’t do It4.horford, all the picks from Philadelphia and Brooklyns 2018?

Anthony Davis on the Celtics would be a great thing to see.  The only mistake they’ve made in building up their roster is giving Al Horford $30 million per year.

A.D probably won’t want to leave nor would the fans want him to and I don’t think it will happen especially after the Demarcus cousins trade.

But at what point do they move on due to durability issues(not due to talent)?

Think about this for as long as they lock up Demarcus this offseason you could look at the following at the trade deadline:

Get as many picks as possible for him + young talent for him so something like this my work:

Avery Bradley,The 3rd pick in this draft, both of the Lakers and Nets pick(2018)+ both Clippers and grizzlies 2019 picks.

It may seem like a steep price for A,D but both teams win from this in some regards…Cetics if they get Hayward+A.D become the next super team as long they maybe get a PG that can make the offense work.

The Pelicans end up with the following: Demarcus:Best available player to choose at 3rd out of Fox,Jackson,Taytum,Smith or Ball. Then in 2018 you have 3 good picks which could help you net the next piece in your semi rebuild and then in 2019 you finish it off…So lets say the following is what the Pelicans end up with: Demarcus,Mike Porter(2018), Josh Jackson(2017),Avery Bradley,Jrue Holiday (if Kept)Then your bench is:The next high 2018 picks the you can possible use the 2019 picks to help unload the average contracts to get cap for the other needs you have..

The celtics end up with A.D+ one of the average contracts off the Pelicans books out of Etwuan moore and Omir Asik..

The Celtics have the following lineup: A.D,Horford,Crowder,Hayward,I.T/Upgrade P.G Bench Jaylen brown,Kelly O,Marcus Smart and Asik

The celtics need to give up Horford + All picks for AD. Sign Gordon Hayward, ans there is the only possible scenario of a team that can play with Golden State for the next 2-3 years

I would easily trade Davis for all the picks Boston has acquired including this years. Thier cap situation is a mess and they will have to really bond in order to be a 50 win teaam let alone .500 team with Boogie in town. Boston has a ton of picks and it could end up being 3 top 5 picks and some other goodies.

I would guess N.O. plans to move Cousins not A.D. before Cousins hits FA

unless they intend to keep both.

Moving on from A.D. would require Fultz at #1 and a plethora of other pieces.

celtics were one series away from the finals. They’re adding a top 3 pick this year and a potential top pick which could end up being deandre ayton. then, they potentially get a top 6-10 pick. no way i’m moving those pics for davis.

Boston is going to look real good if the nets have another lousy season and deandre ayton ends up truly having david robinson potential. forget it, you dont need anthony davis, you just keep getting presents from the nets and other teams to build your dynasty.

I can see Boston making the Finals next year.  Their core guys will be BETTER.  That high pick will REALLY help.  Or, at least it SHOULD.

The Cavs are a bit worse next year.  Their main core is slipping, the back end of their bench is TURRIBLE.  Even LeBron looked gassed/winded/dejected/detached at times… Kyrie balled out but got banged up.

Cavs are on the downswing.  Celtics are on the UPSWING.  Possibly BIG TIME.  Although watch out for YOUR Washington Wizards…
