More than ever the Celtics need to rebuild…I think it’s in their best interest and the future of the franchise to trade as much valuable players as they can for young players, assets, and future draft picks…The 2014 draft is stockpiled with potential franchise players/future all-stars, now is the time the Celtics should start rebuilding and try to lose as much games as they possibly can (lol) …I would even trade Rondo to the Suns, for Goran Dragic & Gortat…Rondo seems cocky to be on a rebuilding team, full of young players, but with Rondo on the Suns, it gives the Suns an advantage into signing his buddy, Josh Smith, this Summer. Rondo & Josh Smith on the Suns, is a good way to turn the franchise around

Off topic. I ended thinking how underrated and how much value the Celtics has gotten from him for so many years. He has been a top five sf perhaps the last five or more years, and has pretty much been an iron man for most of his career. Pierce has often brought it or held his own against the elite’s, not to mention a two way player as well and is clutch as they come.

The only thing I have seen people have a gripe or held against him, is the time he needed to be carried off the court, but because he came back and killed it that one incident somewhat stuck. He is in the top 30 of all-time minutes played, I think 11th time all-star, one time three point champion and a playoff finals mvp.

My bad. I should have wrote Paul Pierce name in the beginning or title.

Would make that trade. The Celtics won’t tank and Phoenix isn’t giving away Gortat or burying Kendall Marshall.

By all appearances, Danny is not bringing Pierce back at 15 million. It could lead to KG requesting a trade, and Danny knowing that RR would be impatient and too cool for a rebuilding team.

But even if KG wants to stay, and rondo stays, Pierce’s team buyout option has some big potential trade value for some team like Houston trying to free up room for DHoward.

Other teams are too smart to give up their ’14 picks, but Danny could turn PP, KG, and RR into lotto picks this year, plus junk contracts coming back.

Rondo for top 5 pick plus Turk from orlando, or something similar from another team.

KG to OKC for Perk, pick 13 or 14, plus something else like another pick, jackson or jones.
    Or KG to Clips.
Pierce to Houston for Asik and Jones.

Lots of options, and team might still be somewhat competitive.

For pics this year. Draft is not worth it. Next years draft, now that’s a different story.

If the C’s are going to go into that type of overhaul they need to stack picks over multiple years like they had the years before they traded for KG and Allen (yes I do realize they needed that last suck year to get Ray).

They need to try and get multiple picks in this year, next and 2015 ect.

And since you have 3 very tradeable assets (plus i’m sure a contender would give up a pick for a guy like Courtney Lee or Jason Terry) you can stack them over a longer period. Plus add a foreign stash or 2 in there and you can get young, cheap players coming over in waves each year. Also helps for the cap.
