Would it be crazy for the cavs to trade the 1st pick to phi for 3rd and 10th pick? I know phi would be picking Wiggings at 1st, and there is still a chance to get Embiid if the bucks decide to pick Parker?

WHY WOULD PHILLY DO THAT? Philly must be high if they do that deal. Philly is in the best situation in the draft picking 3rd and just selecting who is left out of Parker Embiid and Wiggins. With their 10th pick, I see them adding a solid player next to MCW, no.3 Pick and Nerlens.

Wiggins fits best. Drafting Parker kills one of the assets they already have in Thad Young. Everyone thinks Young should be moved except he is a slightly above average stretch four with good IQ. Every team in the NBA wants one of those and he at this point is a poor mans Chris Bosh for a third the cost, who has been healthy and is locked for a few years. NBA teams don’t want guys on longs deals but a good long deal like Thad’s is a asset for bad teams that can’t attract free agents.

Embiid is a little bit redundant if Noel looks great at practices and they would take some scrutiny if they draft another center with injury issues.

Outside of Wiggins the Sixer’s will have to give up or lose a starting quality player. If Noel is healthy then you already have a starting quality 4 and 5 that actually fit really good together. A stretch 4 and a weak side shot erasing 5 that can run the floor. Fast Breaks and 3’s are the future and that’s Philly’s game plan, they just need a wing who is athletic and can develop as a shooter.

Wiggins may just fall to 3 and sovle there problems.

I’m confused…  Thad is a tweener and very undersize for the PF position, he’s not strong enough. Did you call him a poor man’s Chris Bosh?  Have you watched Thad Young play?  Not to mention he got his points on a terrible Sixers team last year, he’s a borderline 4th option dude.

I don’t see how drafting Parker will force you to get rid of Thad Young.   You do realize Parker played out of position all year right?  He played majority the Center and Power Forward role for Duke this year (he even did the jump ball) and looks to shift over to the SF spot in the league…  I actually disagree with the notion that Wiggins fits best because no one on the 76ers is a shot maker in the half court…  The 76ers need a guy like Parker…

So the Sixer’s would then start a four who is to weak and a 3 who is to slow. Not to mention without a trade the Sixer’s don’t control who they will be able to draft. They may end up with only the choice of Wiggins.

They also drafted maybe the 2 most athletic players last year in MCW (tested off the charts at combine) and Noel, easily the most athletic player in college his freshman season. I think Parker could fit to and is the most ready to help but they need a few years anyway so why not go with upside.

Parker is also a tweener just in a better way. I question his ability to guard either position but offensively he can play either one above average. He has had knee problems in the past and is a bit fleshy. In high school and at Duke there were times he loked 15 pounds overweight. Good to Great player no doubt, but reminds me of Glen Robinson. He was a beast but never in great shape. Parker may be a Glen Robinson/Derrick Coleman/Glen Rice combo which could lead to 8 All Star games but I personally prefer in shape players, i.e. Embiid and especially Wiggins.

To me its Paul George potential in year 3 for Wiggins or Glen Robinson in year 3 for Parker. I prefer the lean wing defender.

DeRozan, Ross and Amir Johnson for Wiggins, Tristen Thompson.

Thompson and Johnson are a wash but Thompson is younger makes a couple million less, a Tornto native and on a rookie deal that can be extended down the line or used in a sign and trade. Those slight almost nonexistent benefits help make up for the talent loss that would come from giving up DeRozan and Ross for the home town hero in Wiggins, plus Tornto still has the 20th pick.

The real trade come down to DeRozan and Ross for Wiggins. Its not worth it for Toronto, I know that but it would be a great story. DeRozan and Ross make 12 million next year and Wiggins will make 5.5. Thats 7 million dollars at the disposal of a team who would otherwise already be exactly at the cap.

I don’t think its a good deal for Toronto but it is exciting. I’m a Cavs fan and a deal like this would make us a 5 seed, plus you gain a 10 million dollar All Star. Toronto would take a initial step back but only a small one if they resign Lowry and potentially kepp Wiggins home for his entire career. Thats worth a small step back from 3 seed to 6th seed.

find it fun to reply and create the often dreaded "Trade Idea" threads. But could someone explain why trading the number 1 pick to Toronto to draft Wiggins is so bad of an idea.

Ujiri almost blew up their whole season to tanking and attaining cap flexibility, which he admitted even during their climb. This gives him that and it gives the Cavs what they want, which is a playoff contender. The Cavs owner and GM want a 3 year span of 48+ wins not necessarily boom or bust championship contention. They want to be that Hawks team from a few years back.

Gilbert owns the casino here in Cleveland to that actually has a walk way to the Arena and on the back of Cavs tickets you can turn them in after games and get 10 free play bucks in the casino. Having 20,000 people in walking distance to the casino which grossed more than the Indians, Browns and Cavs combined in 2013 in the first three months of its opening. This is a sports town and just being good is good enough for us to go crazy. If the Cavs were a 4th seed last year at the All Star break they would have sold out the entire remainder of the season. That’s 20,000 versus 12,000. Imagine having 5,000 people spending a extra 200 dollars at the casino per home game. thats 1,000,000 dollars extra per home game for the casino and another 1,000,000+ for the team selling 8,000 more tickets per home game. I am not saying this means anything but it would if I owned the team and casino.

had a breakout year last i still don’t that worth trading the #1 overall pick in with 3 potential franchise changing talents. Also there is no evidence that suggest that Gilbert wants to build a team like the hawks a fews years back, in fact last years offseason were didn’t make a play for any of the major FAs like Iggy, big AL, Milsap, J smoove ect.. suggest otherwise and any one of Embiid,Wiggins, or Parker + a solid FA pickup should be enough for the Cavs to make the playoffs next year.

I just think that trade heavily favors Toronto.
