I just realized that only LeBron James is the only player on the Cavs roster that can play both offensively and defensively. Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love, JR Smith, Channing Frye, and Richard Jefferson are all offensive first players, but are below average defensive players. And Tristian Thompson, Iman Shumpert, Timofey Mozgoz, and Delly are all defensive players that’s below average offensive players.

I can’t really blame LeBron for this potential playoffs lost because he seem like the only player that really wants it. I’m typically don’t like to assume how a person fell/think, but it seem like all the other players don’t want it. Just look at Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love body language, it don’t seem like they care.

Not trying to act like I can predict the future, or anything. But, all the things that I feared that might happened to the Cavs all happened. Tyronn Lou can’t make proper adjustments, JR Smith and Channing Frye are not as hot as they were in the eastern conference finals, simis and first round. And Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love cannot guard anyone. I kind of fell bad for LeBron because he left Miami for this, in terms of basketball only.

I might get negged but wow he had the chance to be the undisputed GOAT. History will speak for it’s self. Lebron James a all time great player. But will never be considered an all time great winner.

I didn’t neg you because I wanted to do the research first….cos you might have been right.

But Elgin Baylor went 0 and 8 in finals…so he holds the crown. Followed by Jerry West 1-8

Lebron looks like he will be 2-5 which puts him past Wilt Chamberlain.

been stuck on 2 and playing in a cursed city. Unless lebron puts another super team together. I don’t see the cavs ever beating this warriors team how it is currently constructed in a 7 game series.

How does the biggest loser in NBA history win 64% of his career games? That is higher than a bunch of certified hall of famers.

Agreed. Roster is filled with one dimensional players and As multi dimensional as Lebron is he can’t cover up the weaknesses for everyone else. I’ve said this since game one and have heard a few others suggest it but I’d honestly feel Cleveland would have a better shot going forward in this series starting some guys from their second bench unit, possibly Delly-Shumpert-Lebron-Love-Frye/Thompson. Their starting 5 is a pretty pathetic defensive unit, no perimeter defenders or rim protectors, with Smith Irving and Love all being below average defenders. Run the offense through Lebron and two man game with him and Delly with Frye and Love for kickouts and maybe early defense and energy kickstarts them with a bench unit of Smith and Irving (and maybe that lights a fire under their ass at the same time) bringing in more offense.

Obviously this scenario won’t happen since you can’t hurt anyone’s feelings or whatever but at this point GS has proved how much more well-rounded deep and easily superior they are to this cavs team.

In the long run I don’t think this core of players for cle can win a ring, and not just saying that after these 2 games. I picked GS in 5 and don’t think series with Okc or SA would have gone much longer.

Cavs should make good shot selection. Warriors make them play defense already even though cavs are on the offensive end due to the fact that missed or bad shots result to fast break for the warriors!

I think Thompson / James / Smith / Shumpert / Irving is their best lineup against the Warriors and if I were T-Lue would start that line-up. Love is such a defensive liability

bron gets to construct the cavs roster nowadays. Im pretty sure almost any player that signs w cavs nowadays has to be approved by bron. Cavs already commited long term to tt, love, and kyrie so unless they pull off trade then that will be main starters moving forward. They have more flexibility to upgrade at sg and bench, but not much. Maybe they can find a 2nd rd drafted all star like Draymond who dropped almost 30 on cavs 2nite(10 more pts then bron) tonight who was a #1 pick lol.

Many of those “one dimensional players were “chosen” by Lebron.. Especially Kevin Love. One that note, Wiggins is a pretty good 2 way player. And Wiggins is gonna be really good for the next 10+ years. Think that’s one trade that will definitely look worse every year going forward..

Love is  just never available when needed the most it seems. I hope hes healthy and clears the concussion test.  My question is….why did Cleveland give Thompson so much money? He has the best agent in pro sports.

Tyronn….any danger of giving Delly some meaningful minutes that weren’t just junk-time? By the time the Cavs were down 20+, Delly only had 4 minutes.

I’m not sure what his beef with Delly is, but he has no confidence in him and the Cavs have been worse off for it since David Blatt left.

There is a lot of things that Delly does better than Kyrie Irving. Passing, Defense and running the pick’n’roll to start with. Not to mention the energy he brings. Any advanced stat you look at show the Cavs are better with Delly on the floor than Irving.

I’m not sure why Lue is freezing Delly out. He was excellent in last years playoffs, especially before he got worn out by carrying so much responsibility.

Lue might be racist….or maybe he doesn’t like Delly’s style of play and it reminds him of his own underachieving career…. but what he’s doing now isn’t working and Kyrie Irving is KILLING the Cavs.

Time to unleash some ‘Dova energy on the Dubs who are making it look like a walk in the park!

First off I dig on LeBron. But maybe he’s not as good as the hype? If the Cavs were in the West, would this be LeBron’s sixth trip to the Finals? LeBron isn’t able to really carry a team and he has a record of not finishing games well. However he is a great player. Back when Kyrie and Love got with LeBron and many people were talking about this BIG 3. The first thing that popped in my head was Kyrie has a record of getting hurt and Love isn’t a really known for his “D”. And check this out now…..Kyrie is healthy today, but he missed last year’s Finals and many other games. And Love can’t keep up with the Dubs. I like the small 3 the Dubs have…Curry, Thompson, and Green. Also again, if the Cavs were in the West this season, would this current Cav’s roster get out of the 1st or 2nd round of the West? I don’t see the Cavs beating OKC, Spurs, maybe even Portland?

Please dont pretend that Lebron is or was any lockdown defender.

He was at his best with the Heat when he could freely roam as a defender, pressure the ball handler by blitzing the P&R and make terrific plays off ball to swat shots, intercept with his impressive speed and feel for the game however those days are done for and now with the Cavs, he’s not asked to do most of those things anymore.

Frankly speaking, I dont believe he has the competitive fire to say okay this is my man and Im going to shut him down each time there’s a one on one oppurtunity.

I said this coming in, Cleveland has absolutely no chance. Their roster is good enough to make it to the Finals because they have Lebron, but other than that it’s not a very well put together team. It might’ve worked back in Lebron’s Heat days, but not anymore. I honestly think if you put Lebron on any other team that made the playoffs, they’d be better than the Cavs are now.

The infatuation with Kevin Love is killing them right now. If the Cavs lineup was Kyrie-Waiters- Wiggins – Lebron – TT they would be in much better position. Defense is killing them. The difference between their D and the way OKC played D is stark. Cavs were in too big of a rush to get rid of the younger athletic players.
