Ok guys so the Cavs got the first and fouth pick in the the draft, great stroy for a team that got the Sh!t end of the stick from their golden boy. We all know that they are going to be bluiding through the draft… Looking at the roster now they have two key plyers that could help this team get back to 60 wins.

Ramon Sessions- Could get the Cavs back a nice wing player, something the Cavs need bad. Talk is about NY wanting Sessions. Don’t know if they have anyone that the Cavs like, but the Cavs know teams like this kid.

Antawn Jamison- This is the big one! Being in the last year of his deal at around 14 milion. Now with what the Cavs did in the Davis trade, taking on a bad deal in Davis for a high draft pick getting that money off the Clips books. They should do this again this year and the three teams they should call are

Wizards- With the rest of Bron’s trade execption and Jamison for Rashard Lewis ( 2 years 19 million per year ) and there 1st round draft pick.

Pistons- This team I think has to do a deal like this… take your pick Hamllton ( 2 years 13 million per ) Gordon ( 3 years 10 million per ) Vilianueva ( 3 years  7.5 million per )

Raptors- A Calderon and Kleiza 1st round pick for Jamison would clear the Raps books.

The Cavs are going to be a 50 plus losses team next year and will be close to the top pick in the draft again… Adding one more top ten pick from one of the teams that I’ve said could give the Cavs a great " Core Four " and right when these kids are becoming good the bad contracts you took back for them will be coming off your books.

None of the teams you mentioned would really have much interest in Jamison.

If a miracle occurs and a CBA is in place, the Cavs would look into using their TE to get someone like Iggy.  As a Sixers fan I could see this happening if Kanter is a true C and is still at 4.  Obviously there would be more pieces in the trade.  If not, they could try and go Kyrie + BPA, and then try to hit on one of their 2 second rounders.  Either way they are going to need another good draft in 2012.

Erik94… did you read the post? Any of the teams taking Jamison back would being doing it for one year… Rent a Player for CAP SPACE! It’s what the Clips did… gave up a 1st round pick for CAP SPACE… It’s called a Salary Dump.  The 1st round pick is payment for the Cavs taking there bad contracts off there books and giving them a deal thats coming off the books in Jamison.

I’m seeing a little different rebuilding process in Cleveland. They will surely build through the draft. Also, they have decent complementary pieces, some who will be dealt, and some who will stick around.

If I’m Chris Grant, here is what I do:

    Draft Kyrie Irving #1 overall

Trade the 4th pick. Assuming that maybe Kanter slips to 4, trade the pick to somebody hoping to grab him or someone else that is prospectively available.

#4 to Charlotte for 2012 #1 pick and DJ White. The Bobcats grab a big man to go with Tyrus Thomas and their young backcourt of Henderson/Augustin.

As mentioned earlier, if the Knicks do want Ramon Sessions, then offer him straight up for Landry Fields. This doesn’t look likely from the Knicks angle, but you never know. Either way, the Cavs have Baron Davis at the PG for 2 years, so no need to pay someone like Sessions for the #3 spot. Try to get some young, cheap assets for him. Yes, he is an underrated productive player, but the Cavs have no need for him. Trading Baron is nearly impossible.

Additionally, look to acquire a young 3, possibly by trading Boobie Gibson. I understand that they could get one in this draft, but it’s so weak that unless Williams falls, they should look elsewhere.

Look to flip Jamison in the season for additional assets, a #1 or some young players.

And no, I didn’t forget about the trade exception, but there is no clear path on its use. However, I do believe that Grant shouldn’t use it for the sake of simply securing something in Lebron’s place.

The Cavs entering 2011 look like this:

    Varejao/Hollins/Erden

    Hickson/Jamison

    Graham/Harangody/?

    Fields/Gee/Eyenga

    Irving/Baron/Harris

Probably a 30 win team, but they maintain flexibility while building a promising future.
