As most of you already have heard, the Cavs are looking to trade Brandon Haywood’s unique contract and their 1st rounder for a veteran player.  After reviewing all of their options, these are the players I feel are real possibilities.  Let me know if you agree/disagree or anyone you’d like to add to the list:

Brandon Jennings- Detroit is going to commit long term to Reggie Jackson, and already have a young back up point guard in Spencer Dinwiddie, so I think they would be open to trade offers.  Jennings would be a quality back up point guard and provide scoring off the bench.

Wilson Chandler- Denver is in rebuild mode, and I don’t know if Chandler is in their long term plans.  He’s a quality 3/D wing veteran.

Kevin Martin- a solid veteran who’s on a reasonable contract.  Now that they have plenty of young wings who need playing time, they may be more willing to part with him.

Greivis Vazquez- probably not the level of player the Cavs are hoping for in this trade but they may be able to get the Raptors to include an additional player like Terrance Ross or switch draft picks.

    Mozgov

    Thompson

    LBJ

    Shumpert

    Irving

Cavs set at the starters. Length, strength and athletic front court. Scoring at 1, 3, 5 paired with 2 excellent defensive players at 2, 4. It would be even more perfect if Shumpert can develop his 3 and Irving can improve his D. They can improve their bench like add:

    1) a versatile and stretch 4 like Diaw; 2) an defensive wing; 3)an shooter, 4)another PG

Not sure if the Pistons would give up Jennings for a low 20s 1st rounder. However, they could do this move just to dump his salary. If I’m the Cavs your Jennings suggestion makes the most since.

Personally I think Detroit could get more for jennings than Haywood and a late first. However, if there was someone Detroit likes in the late first round I s ay go for it.

LBJ brings up the ball anyways so might as well trade Irving. If LBJ stays in CLE for the next 4-5 years trade Irving. Irving’s injury-prone and has a big contract. They could use his money on a 2G and depth on the bench assuming they keep Thompson and/or Love.

there is no way you trade an allstar because your superstar is a point forward…

that is ludicrous thinking and very very very unrealistic.

no gm on the planet would do this and i would not be surprised if you are 12 or drunk.
