WITNESS2014ParticipantI think that is a great fit for cavs. Really doubt pistons do this because they finally got their frontcourt of the future and they arent getting a better player with the 1st pick.

lopatataParticipantMaybe they want to give Drummond extra minutes. And they need SG (B-Mac). Not quite possible, but I desperately want this trade. It depends on Monroe’s mood about Detroit’ organization.

lopatataParticipant1+19+Gee=Greg Monroe; great fit for the Cavs in my opinion, but Pistons would like to do this trade????

TRC1991ParticipantPaul George aint goin anywhere. Neither is Greg Monroe.. Both are cornerstones to their respective franchises

FutureNBAGMParticipantNot sure if your a Pistons fan like I am but I can tell you that if theres a cornerstone of the Pistons franchise it’s Drummond, not Monroe.

lopatataParticipantAgree! They can’t co-exist. At some point they have to make their decision – Drummond or Monroe. When Drummond started to play more minutes and produce at high level, Monroe’s numbers went straight down 🙂 Not likely, but possible trade

FutureNBAGMParticipantIm sure the Cavs could get a lot more than just Monroe for what they’re offering. Besides, the Cavs should be targeting a small forward anyway andthey really dont need Monroe.

Meditated StatesParticipantThey cant coexist, too similar. Drummomd is a freak athletically though. Keeping Drummond is smarter. Monroe was developed well as a trading peice. Its how you GM. Drummond is the future get him touches keep him happy. Thank Greg for his services and get serious value for him.

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantMonroe is a Pf, Drummond is a C…The Pistons can see what Greg Monroe’s trade value is BUT who’s are you going to replace him with???
I don’t get why people think the Pistons would flirt with the idea of trading Monroe because of the addition of Drummond, they compliment each other and replicate the Twin Tower formula, get a Star Pg (FYI, I still think Brandon Knight can be a star G) and a stud Sf (They can afford Iguadola) and this team is Set for a few deep playoff runs…

larryfiskenParticipantWhat is a possibility is to trade for the mclemore with Monroe and sign a pf in free agency if they find one they think can co-exist long term with drummond if they belive monroe and drummond can co-exist. Then they would have enough for a max player since both maggette ad calderon is coming of the books for next season.
It sums down if drummond and monroe cant coexist and they are high on mclemore do something…

Prime TimeParticipantMonroe and Drummond will figure it out. Greg was telling the Pistons he wanted them to draft Drummond last year. I’m assuming he wasn’t telling them that so he could be replaced. Take a PG or SF at 8, maybe sign someone in free agency. If you make the playoffs, you get experience. if you don’t make the playoffs, you get a good pick in next year’s supposedly stacked draft.Getting rid of Drummond would be horrible for the team.

King CaluchaParticipantRandolph and Gasol can co-exist in Memphis, why can’t Monroe and Drummond do the same? Monroe has somewhat of a jumper and can play PF…

Sotos14ParticipantAlthough I agree they can co-exist, Monroe in no way, shape or form does he have a jumper. I like Monroe a lot but he has not improved at all since last month of rookie season. Any die hard Det fans will tell you the same. As a Pistons fan, I would actually consider this trade. Take Mclemore #1 because Noel and Drummond would not go well together, possibly draft Zeller to play the pf spot (easily a downgrade from Monroe but will do), then still have 19th pick to take high risk, high reward style pick. Maybe even trade up a couple spots and draft Giannis Adetokobou. This team would be super young, probably finish bottom 5 next year and secure its pick next year in what should be a very strong draft, rather than give it up to Cha (top 6 protected in 2014) and would finally have crazy core going forward. This being said, this is a complete pipe dream.

sheepish_moParticipantHow do they not co-exist? Monroe gets a lot of his touches in the high post and Drummond in the low post and off the glass. Will be a formidable duo, no way Detroit splits them up.

ReactionParticipantI’m pretty sure both Monroe and Drummond can co-exist. Drummond plays high and above the rim and Monroe plays from below. Drummond gets the put backs and Monroe has more range. Monroe can play PF and Drummond can play center. They work well together. I’m pretty sure having that tandem along with finding a good PG and some good wings will lead to a very good team.

The QParticipantIf the Pistons could use 8 and 19 to move up for Bennett…that might make sense because I think Monroe is a 5 now as well. A core of 20 year olds Mac/Bennett/Monroe to build around is pretty sweet.
I think Boston offering up Rondo should get Detroit’s attention though, they need a PG as Knight has shown he is not it.

Sharp ShooterParticipantI would like Rondo to the pistons….but I would like to see how he would come back from the ACL injury first. The question is who will the pistons give up? Knight, Stuckey, Vill, pick?
