Cavs part ways with GM Griffin

Apparently the Cavs are parting ways with David Griffin after failing to reach an agreement on a contract extension. This is a bad move on Dan Gilbert's part. First, it will upset Lebron (who wanted Griffin back) and second Griffin had been creative in acquiring talent for the Cavs. I really do not get it.

The reports from Woj are

The reports from Woj are pretty crazy. People under Griffin turning down other deals to stay working for Griffin. Chauncey Billups being looked at to take over as President of Basketball Ops without front office experience. Not to mention the Cavs blocking Griffin from meeting with Orlando, Milwaukee, Atlanta recently only to let him go now.

He is going to get paid alot

He is going to get paid alot more than the Cavs need him for at this point thats why he is gone. Cavs have exhausted the need for his elite managment services at this point. Hopefully whoever replaces him is not just a tool. This guy had gonads the size of lavars ego with some of the stuff he pulled together.

I wonder what his last moves will be if he is still given the chance to do something on draft night or if he has carried his box of desk junk to the Bentley already.

Wow that's a really

Wow that's a really questionable call. The Cavs has a solid GM that helped them immensely and they're just letting him go. It's crazy to hear that Dan Gilbert has never agreed with a contract extension with any of his GMs since buying the team. It will be interesting to see what they do moving forward, but whatever happens this is not an encouraging sign for Cavs fans.

I smell a Sam Hinkie

I smell a Sam Hinkie interview on the horizon. The stench of poor ownership is whafting in Lebron's direction...time to acquire assets and gear up for life w/out LeBron.

it was a mutual decision ,

it was a mutual decision , Griffin "wanted to leave to make more money than he is worth to Cavs at this point" he did a great job there, they were not goin to pay him what he deserves to "maintain" the roster. He also wants another challange , that is how he is wired. so they let him walk. Not a big loss and not like he is leaving a team in chambles. Lebron isn't going anywhere, so much foolishness to think he would.
