yaboymalParticipantI usually dont post on this site often but I am sick and tired of hearing all this Carmelo Anthony hate. "he’s a cancer" " they should trade him" "he’s a ball stopper". Guys on espn saying how is carmelo gonna fit in with jeremy lin, are you freakin kidding me the real question should be how is J.Lin gonna fit in with Melo! I am really disspointed especially at my fellow new yorkers, if your a die hard knicks fan and you watch everygame like I do and you know the game play the game and love the game like I do you can clearly see what the problem is, now I am going to break down to all of you melo haters and ignorant people that dont know the game what was going on before D’antoni got fired. First off let me clear up all thee things that are said about melo "he’s a ball stopper", You people know Melo is one of if not the best one on one players in the league! and he scores off of isolations very effitiently its not like he just jacks up stupid shots he either scores or gets to the freethrow line, another thing is Melo is a really good passer and has excellent vision so all of you saying hes a chuck really need to sit and watch a game and not go off of what everyboy is saying. Talent wise he is top 5 in the league and he is not a cancer so yall need to shutup up. One last thing I wanna bring up is its cool that Jeremy Lin can get 7-8 assists but if any body has the ball in their hand to much its him! Its like D’antoni wanted to run the offense through him, Lin was coming off of pick and rolls just dribbling and dribbling away while melo and amare are standing around doing nothing which was making the offense look very stagnant. Melo and Amare need the ball in there hands, now as I am watching them beat on Portland in there 1st game since D’antoni quit I like what I see and I like the defensive effort and ball movement I dont wanna get to excited off of one game but I cant help it. Anyway where are all my knicks fans what do yall think about the state of this team??

FearTheStacheParticipantI respectfully disagree with your position. While I do think that Carmelo is one of the greater talents in the league, I just don’t believe that said talent can lead to a championship caliber team. Once the Knicks had Amare, they were winning and playing very well. Then, they traded for Carmelo. The rest of the season was dissapointing to say the least. On the other hand, the Nuggets used their handful of players from the Knicks to create a semi-formidable team, finishing the season out stronger than they did with Carmelo. This season was no different. The Nuggets have still been competitive in the very tough West league, while the Knicks right now are not going to make the playoffs in the substantialy weaker East. When Amare and Melo were playing on the Knicks, they went on a 6 game losing streak. Then, both players missed some time. Jeremy Lin came in and started to dominate, starting a winning streak. Amare came back, and they were still very good. Then, Carmelo came back, and they have struggled. I think this speaks volumes as to who Melo is as a player. All in all, I think a main problem is that Melo needs the ball in his hands to score. Unfortunately, so does Amare. They both can’t be their normal selves if they are not getting their normal shot attempts. I think Melo is an incredible player talent, not a team talent.

ShekiruBoomParticipantto be fair, even during amare’s best in ny, knicks were still .500. its just that carmelo was supposed to take the knicks to the next step but just not happening

DurantsWingspanMelo is wayyyyy better than Lin. Lin is a fringe starter, I really do not see all the hype. The thing is you should have either Melo or Amare. One or the other. They are both very talented, but also both heavily relient on offense. Mix in Mike D’Antoni, an offense happy coach, and you really aren’t going to get much defense. I mean Melo and Amare are great. Melo definitley a top ten player in the league. The thing is you have to have balance on your roster. Why do you think the Heat are not as dominant as they truly should be? Because LeBron and D-Wade are too similar of players. They still are the best in the league, but with that rost they should easily win the championship every year. Dallas didn’t have as much players but they had the perfect mix of players to counter balance eachother out. I just don’t think having that much offense without much balance is a good thing in the NBA. They need more defense it is as simple as that.

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantwhen Fields didn’t pass him the ball with about 2 minutes left in that Celtics game. Instead of continueing to post up he gave up in the middle of a posession. Because Melo actually plays with some passion on offense at least I will give him the benefit of the doubt but it was a weak moment. I was thinking what coach would want to coach that. How could somebody go to war for you if you let a guy blatantly quit on the court. First time for everything I guess and Melo was actin p#ssy!
