sacphil_08ParticipantI really think that carmelo will remain in denver for the rest of the season and denver will get nothing for him and heres why:
The teams that will have the money to offer him will have it in the offseason also and they wont have to give anything then to acquire him.
Teams know that denver is looking for something particular (1st round picks, young potential etc) and i think every other team besides denver has the advantage because like i said theyll have that same money come offseason and they dont have to budge on anything they dont want to
Denver doesnt want to ‘throw’ their season either. if he stays they make the playoffs, seats will be filled etc and they make money so why not get what you can while you can?
im going to go out on a limb and say (more like hope) that my team (the kings) aggresively goes after him. I could be dreaming but i know we’ll have the money and maybe even trade pieces in dalembert with his expiring contract, donte green as a young guy with potential, maybe even francisco garcia. i think the x’s and o’s could work out and maybe if we finish the season with say 30-35 wins and remain competitive we could attract him. Tyreke, carmelo and demarcus is a nice core in my opinion and we have role players and wll probably be in the lottery to take a guy like brandon knight and then be doing things here in the future

stanford hoopsi think the nets had a chance early in th eseason and have a better chance now but they may be inclined to keep favors now that hes been doing alot better in the regular season then he did in the preseason/summer leauge. plus it makes no sense if they trade him and devin harris. then they are left with a team with farmar as the starting point guard and thats not gonna get them past the second round in my opinion. possibly not even the first

llperezfrom everything i have been reading, he is being very particular on where he goes trying to choose his own team and giving the nuggets a narrow list to work with. If he has really narrowed it down to like NY and Chi, neither of those teams have the money to afford a max deal next summer, so they will have to work with the nuggets to make it happen after the season is over. I think sac, minnesota and indiana are some of the only teams that could sign him outright with the nuggets getting nothing in return. I dont really see melo going to any of those teams.

llperezyeah, with a sign and trade which means denver would get something back. I was just pointing out there are only a couple of teams who could sign him outright with denver getting nothing in return.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantYea but what team who trades a superstar ever benefitted from that trade? Toronto and Cleveland didn’t.
I agree. As a Knicks fan, I rather allow him to hit market and pick him up. I think he stays with Denver all season. Don’t be shocked if Denver uses K-Mart’s deal to pull a 3rd guy to team with Melo and Billups

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantsomebody would have to salary dumping big time…
Wilson Chandler is looking like a horse…If I was Denver I’d just pull the trigger on Melo for Chandler,Curry and Randolph…they can haggle over the draft pick too…but that’s a fair enough deal at this point…Billups and Chandler is a start…Lawson and Randolph give the Nuggets a 2 young pieces to the long term project…They can also trade K Mart and JR at some point…

stanford hoopsi think its best if they wait to see what randolph is gonna actually do. dumb to trade for him before he proves hes worth it. so far the devin harris favors deal plus picks look wayyy better
people are counting out protland and orlando because he hasnt mentioned those teams as places he’s willing to go

delfamParticipantDenve is probably waiting on how well AR plays, I mean he’s played 3 minutes this year so they’ll just taking in all the options and how players are playing.
