FastAndFuriousParticipantMelo’s arsenal is better than Durant’s, yes Durant has won scoring champion last 2 years but Melo can put the ball in the hole more ways than Durant.

rileymcshea3ParticipantWho cares if his arsenal is better then Durants ,Kareem basically had one move but look at him , he has the most points of ALL TIME! Hell LeBron doesn’t have half the moves that Carmelo has to score but he is still a better scorer because he can 30 any game while shooting 50% from the field just because when he gets in the paint you can stop him

F_Sdurant is the best scorer in the nba.
melo has the best all around offensive skill set
you know what im talking about, im not getting into it.
remember, durant is also more efficient

F_Sokay, ITS OBVIOUS
DURANT IS THE BEST SCORER IN THE NBA period
i mean, is that even an argument

B-ball fanParticipantDurant is a significantly better scorer than Melo. Melo may have a more advanced isolation and post-up game, but Durant is more deadly running off screens and catching and shooting.
Plus, Durant is even more efficient and more consistently gets to his sweetspots. Scoring in more different ways is sometimes a bad thing; there is something to be said for a player who can consistently get their best shots. Durant may not score in as many ways in isolation, but that doesn’t mean the ways that he does score are ineffective.
This isn’t a dis on Melo, but Durant is at a level as a scorer right now that few players in NBA history have ever attained.

F_She just had a good game and everyone is back on the bandwagon.
if he had a $hitty game today we wouldn’t be talking about how he is better scorer than durant

FastAndFuriousParticipantCool you don’t have to get into it, Melo still the best scorer in the NBA to me, scoring title means you just scored more points, not neccesarily better at putting the ball in the rim.
Melo can post up, face up, beat you off the dribble, has counter moves, hesitation moves, can stick the 3, mid range, get’s to the FT line, dunks on you, and can murder you with the jab step or in the triple threat.
Durant can’t do all that.
His arsenal is not better than Melo’s.
So you think Jimmer was a better scorer than Kemba in college, just because he averaged more points per game?
You think because Al Jefferson averaged 40 per game in HS, he was a better scorer than Kevin Durant in HS who only averaged 27 per game?
And I’ve always said Melo was the BEST scorer in the L, no band wagon here, his arsenal is sick.

TallmanNYCParticipantI followed you on this until you got to messing with Jimmer. How could you possibly say that Jimmer wasn’t a better scorer than Kemba Walker in college? Of course he was. Any way you cut it. He scored many more points, did it on higher schooting percentage (need to use TS% for these guys because they shoot a lot of threes), and he did it with deep threes and crazy flip shots in the lane. He had a ton of moves to allow him to get his shot off. Way more moves than Walker. And Fredette would use them all every game because he had to go out and drop 30 or his team didn’t stand a chance. Fredette was, if nothing else, a stone-cold scoring machine in college.
Also they are both stinking up the joint in the NBA but Jimmer still has a higher TS% than Walker.
But I agree that Melo has one of the smoothest and most diversified offensive games in the league. He is pretty to watch score. Now if he is on your team and you watch more than the highlights, you will now that he doesn’t actually get the ball in the bucket all that offten with all those pretty moves. He scores, but he also misses plenty. Guys like Lebron, Wade, KD, and Love also score lots of points but they have a lot less misses than Melo.

F_Sto me the best scorer is the person who can get the most points up, most efficiently.
durant does both better, go figure.
i’ve always said that melo has the best best all-round offensive skill set. durant is the best scorer.

Winning_TimeParticipantIf we’re gonna talk arsenal I have to still say Kobe is the best honestly

B-ball fanParticipantSo, do you think Carmelo Anthony is better at putting the ball in the rim than Durant even though he does it less often, despite trying more often?
Durant scores more often and efficiently than Melo. I am not sure that because Melo uses more moves means that he is a better scorer. It just means he is a more creative one.

FastAndFuriousParticipantI’ll just put it like this when Melo is clicking on all cylinders, he’s the best scorer in the game.
And all this efficent talk save it for his career Melo is shooting 45% from the field on 19 attempts per
Durant is shooting 46% from the field on 19 attempts per for his career.
From 3 Melo is 32% on 2 attempts per
Durant is 36% on 4 attempts per
Not that big of a difference, I go by what I see, numbers are not always the end all be all of a debate, Melo is the best scorer in the NBA to me.

NYK2010ParticipantMost efficiently would be LeBron look at his fg%.
I think ppl forget Melo had an off year for the most part till the last 2 months.
Also he struggled when they had no PG early on obviously with Felton and Kidd they have 2 PG’s now.
