BOBBYBOBBALBOAParticipantHe’s been rebounding like sh!t this year

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantThe weird thing is that he wasn’t such a poor rebounder until this season. As a 20 year old rookie he averaged 8.1 RPG and last year as a soph averaged 8.6. Those numbers are pretty good. Now this year he’s grabbing less than 6 boards per game. I wonder what happened with him.

KayjayParticipantSometimes when players first get into the league, they look like potential all stars. For two years, and some when they hit that break out year, don’t pan out. It could be because…
1. They get garbage rebounds and points. (Luck)
or
2. Their work ethic dropped.
or
3. They got figured out. Its hard when people take your fast ball away in baseball. So its much like this. Sometimes people start planning for you.
or….
4. There are just better players at their position now.

llperezyou guys are too tough on brook. No excuse for his lack of rebounding, but you act like hes garbage. I mean he had 28 points tonight and made the game winner at the last second.

TyrekeJonesParticipantI do not think anyone is too tough on Brook nobody denies the fact he is offensively gifted and nobody said he didn’t have a great game tonight but you can’t help but be harsh on a starting C in his third year in the NBA is averaging less rebounds then he did both his rookie and sophomore seasons and barely even averages 6 rebounds considering he is 7′ it almost warrants criticism and concern.
Also he only has one or two double doubles of the season, that in my mind is a problem.

ilike.panochasParticipantI find his lack of rebounding to be odd/weird. He plays 35 minutes and hes a 7 footer and averages 19PPG, without any effort a player would almost certainly have more than one double-double this season just by standing around and playing 35 minutes to go along his with his height. If you consider his Minutes, and Size, his low rebounding rate just doesn’t add up.

BigDParticipantI don’t know if this is true, but from watching Nets highlights he doesn’t actually seem to get into any rebounding position, he’s usually outside the key without seeming to make any effort to go and grab a rebound. People who watch full Nets games would probably be able to elaborate on this more though. We don’t get Nets games here down under.

j1232eParticipantKris Humphries wants those rebounds more the Lopez. Kris is going after the rebound, Lopez is elying on the ball coming to him.

Mr. 19134ParticipantI was bout to say that Kris Humphries takes away a few rebounds a game. Humphries is finally having a break out year did anybody see the dunk he had today off a cut and a nice Lopez pass he seemingly floated in the air before throwing it down, it was simple but weird. Dude is a gifted specimen.
Lopez made the game winner tonight while Hollins was literally chopping at his back like his jersey was on fire and Hollins was trying to put it out.
But Lopez does need to rebound more there is no excuses. Avery Johnson is doing a terrible job and should be in his ear about rebounding more and taking him out of the game when he looks like he doesn’t want to rebound. Honestly I think it’s just laziness on the boards. He’d rather save his energy for offense.

Toronto16ParticipantHe must go to the Andrea Bargnani school of rebounding.
