mjfan83Participantwhat are the Canadians chances in 2016/20.. I may miss a couple but here goes, sacre, Bennett, Thompson, Nicholson, corey (and his brothers) joseph, olynyk, rautins all nba players and vets by then (expections for andy davoe and kris).. thats a solid 9 pros, and then, you have a slew of college/hs up and comers most notably, wiggins, ennis, ejim, stauskus, bachinsky, powell, hanlan, pongos, chery, haslip, etewe, di ciman, hastings, notice, pierre, callaste, edwards, keane, arop, birch, wiltjer, willms,i mayes, nastic, jankvic, long, chan, all most of all of whom are solid contributors or better in the ncaa. plus ward and scrubb (sure bet nba imo) and an up and coming CIS group. also many HS prospects like, egi, jackson, craig, zabo, Lyles, gillceasar, Murray, desrosiers, and the list goes on.
I dont quite think we understand the magnitude of talent/pressure on this group. the group that grew up watching nash and believing in basketball canada. success at the international level is paramount. I fully expect this counrty to make the Olympics in 16 albeit a difficult task only to be achieved by a great maturation within the leadership group itself in canada. because when the talent matures, the only thing stopping canada from becoming a burgeoning international powerhouse is coaching and togetherness. that list of talent is off the top of my head (a Canadian basketball fan ofcoarse) and im not involved on any level with the game. imagine what I dotn know! if the 100 or so canadians playing d1 stayed up north and coaching was less a disparity I have trouble believing the CIS teams would not be able to compete and play well against the ncaa.

LindseyParticipantI know carleton went 3-4 against d-1 teams, all they were all high majors. only team to beat them was syracuse and it went to OT.
I think they could keep up in the NCAA, but theres a huge difference between them and even the #2 team from Canada.

Lafferty DanielParticipantWe’ve come a long way.
Milhouse: I can’t believe we’re on the Canadian Olympic Basketball team.
Bart: Yep, it’s just that easy (misses shot)
Canadian Player: Wow, that was close. You can be the centre.
