Can Uconn beat Kentucky?

As I'm sure many of you are doing, I'm putting the finishing touches on my bracket. As of now, I have Kentucky in the championship game, but I think that they might have some serious problems if/when they play UConn. While all the analysts have been talking up Kentucky, but I don't think they're all that considering the talent, or lack thereof in the SEC. Besides that, I'm concerned about Kentucky's, for the most part, lack of experience, and lack of momentum after their loss to Vandy. UConn is nearly as talented as Kenucky in my opinion, they just haven't figured it out yet. But they looked good against Syracuse and they might finally realize all the talent they have and play good basketball in the tournament and beat KU. Am I crazy? Tell me what you think about this potential matchup.

U-Conn is good enough to beat

U-Conn is good enough to beat anyone. I think Kentucky will win because U-Conn is really on and off but it wouldn't surprise me at all if U-Conn won. I picked UK to win it all, and honestly that game scares me most.

Any team that has Jeremy Lamb

Any team that has Jeremy Lamb has a chance to beat anyone on any given day....

Kentucky is the number 1

Kentucky is the number 1 ranked team overall and they got stuck in the toughest section. UConn, Duke, Baylor, and Indiana.

Yes, UConn can win. Im not

Yes, UConn can win. Im not sure they will get past Iowa State though. But if they do, I think they will at least give Kentucky a good game.

if iowa state can beat teams

if iowa state can beat teams like kansas and baylor, you can't count them out against a streaky team like UConn. I wouldn't be surprised to see Iowa state win and I hope they do cuz I think it's gonna mess up a few brackets (not mine).

I agree

I am a UK fan, but I thought we got stuck with an unfortunate 9 seed in UCONN. They are almost as talented as UK, and with Calhoun back, they have a decent shot against us. The key will be Marquis Teague , who is going against a pretty good defender in Napier. Teague can not play like he did at the beginning of the season or how he played against Vandy.

Uconn can definitely win.

Uconn can definitely win. The have inside depth with Drummond, Roscoe Smith and Alex Oriakhi. Drummond should be able to neutralize Davis to an extent. If Teague turns the ball over and Davis gets in foul trouble, Kentucky could be in trouble. Kentucky got lucky because Duke is the weakest 2 seed out of Ohio State, Kansas and Mizzou.

Same situation as you, I have

Same situation as you, I have UK winning it all, but there is no doubt in my mind that UConn has a good shot at them.

They've really underachieved, but they played well in the Big East Tourney, and I think they definatly have enogh talent to beat Kentucky. It'll come down to execution and defense, and Andre Drummond must hold his own against Drummond, along with Lamb and Napier each going for an efficent night of 20+ Points, then they can do it.

And I know this matchup is in the next round, but let's not just assume they'll get past Iowa St, I believe that's who they're playing. They are a godd team that can shoot the ball well, and UConn hasn't defended the three ball well this season. But they are the defending champs, albiet their star player gone pro. We'll see how it plays out. Knowing how March Madness works, it'll probably hurt to look at my bracket by noon pacific tommorow, lol.

Iowa St

Give them a little more respect, they are the higher seed, just saying.

Yeah, this thread is assuming

Yeah, this thread is assuming they get out of the first round. Given their refusal to give 100% effort in stretches throughout the season, they're as likely to lose against Iowa State as they are to win.

They match up well, but they

They match up well, but they gotta get past ISU 1st. ISU is getting overlooked ALOT and went 11-5 in a strong Big 12, and UConn does have a tendency to lose games they shouldn't. UConn has one of the 3-5 most talented rosters and are a 9th seed. There is a reason for that, it was because they underachieved alot and played selfish. But they can beat UK if they play up to snuff, dont overlook ISU, and plat team ball they have the pieces to win that game. We'll see though, can't wait! *Bart Scott voice*

yes indeed. in one of my

yes indeed. in one of my brackets I have UCONN facing UK and beating them. Calhoun is a master and he has the talent. I think UCONN is still better than shown. Health issues with Coach and Boatright missing a lot of time and chemistry building have affected them.

however, in my 2nd bracket (the more probable one) I have UK going to the Final Four and losing to Mizzou.
