negguaryParticipantBrooklyn traded brook lopez and 27th pick for mosgov and russel. Who wins his trade? I think it’s a win win in terms of getting rid of misfits contract and also pretty much solidifies that ball is the pick. Great for bk and may be even better for dlo to get out of Hollywood and do what he wants on the courts he got the keys lol. This is why getting rid of the lakers pick now was perfect for sixers because magic looks like he’s up to something! Thoughts?!!! It’s draft season baby!!!

220ParticipantWell the 76ers only get rid of the Lakers pick if it falls 2-5. If the Lakers add Paul George too then it seems likely they keep the Lakers pick.

brodiejayParticipantForgive my ignorance, but I think I’m still a bit confused by the protections on that Lakers pick. Do the Sixers only GET the pick if it’s between 2-5, or do the Lakers KEEP the pick if it’s 2-5 and the Sixers get it if it’s #1 or #6 onwards.

llperezsixers get the pick regardless. They only give it up and forward it to boston if its 2-5. If the pick is 1 or 6-30, then the sixers keep it and the celtics instead get the kings 2019 1st round pick

Magic JordanParticipantI think it’s terribly short sighted by the Lakers. They have legitimate hopes of clearing enough space to entice Lebron. And when they swing and miss they will have gotten rid of the most promising under 24 guard in the NBA (Fultz isn’t in the NBA yet but immediately takes the crown Thursday).
Terrible move by the Lakers. Absolute win by the Nets. Turning Brook Lopez expiring into a promising player like Russell is a home run. Considering it’s not 2003 and Lopez is antiquated.

nill650Participantfeels like this is just the start of something bigger, but on the face of it The Nets fleeced LA

Meditated StatesParticipantLol but LA was sick of that kid. NOW D RUSS can jack all the shots and be a pg on a horrible Nets team. His team. He should be happy.

Ahkasi ClayParticipantThink about the stats that DLO might put up next year on a team without many good players, he can Kobe it as much as he wants!

llperezNot sure how I feel but I ain’t mad. Got out of mozgovs deal which I saw as a positive. With ball, clarkson and Ingram on perimeter druss wasn’t a necessity. I like him, but he didn’t show much improvement from rookie year to sophomore year which falls in line with the reports that he isn’t a hard worker. Plus I ve always liked clarkson more anyways, he attacks the basket and does better job playing in transition.

Ahkasi ClayParticipantThat moment when you realize that Swaggy P outlasted Russel in La.La. Land.

sheltwon3ParticipantTyler Ennis also looked great off the bench and will come cheap. If Lakers draft Lonzo and acquire Paul George then D Russell was going to be the odd man out anyway.
Brook Lopez is a legit big man and possible mid season trade chip. David Nwaba also needs to get more minutes because he has great energy and plays defense. He could play a Andre Iguadala role. Lakers are slowly shaping their team into a GSW type.
Ball Curry
Ingram Durant
George Thompson
Randle D. Green
B Lopez/ Zubac Pachulia
Clarkson Livingston
Nwaba Iggy
Ennis Clark
Nance McAdoo
Black Jones
Since Ball is not the scorer that Curry is that means George gets more shots even though he may have a Durant or Klay Thompson role depending on what role Ingram grows into.
