I can’t understand it, but then again, it’s Jordan. And if the latest rumors surrounding the Draft are true, the end result could be Trey Burke being available for Detroit at #8.

I am not sure why Jordan is so enamored with Otto Porter that he would trade the younger and more athletic MKG, but that is his latest genius move in the making. Recent reports have Anthony Bennett topping DC’s big board over Porter and going number 3 behind Len and Noel, although anything is possibly. This leaves Porter for the Bobcats, sorry buddy. If they can’t deal MKG, do they still take Porter? If you love him enough to move the #2 pick, don’t you draft BPA anyway. Or is Jordan smart enough to realize he couldn’t survive with so many non-scorers (MKG,Porter,Biyombo, etc)? If Porter does land at #4, 5 and 6 should go McLemore and Oladipo in some order. Then, many reports have Kings leaning towards McCollum.

Due to size and defensive concerns, I would not want my backcourt to be comprised of Burke and Knight. I am sure many Pistons and the state of Michigan would be fans of this but what do you think?

Personally, I would LOVE for that to happen. Burke is a true PG and leader who would be a perfect fit in a Piston uni. It just so happens that the people in Michigan got to see him play a lot in college hence these “homer” fans who want him. Also, keep in mind that Burke was born and raised in Ohio so there wont be the hometown pressure that some people might think. Oh, and anyone who watched Burke play know that hes a MUCH better player than Mateen Cleaves was when drafted. Just my 2 cents. Take it for what its worth.

MKG is only 3 months younger than Porter so age isn’t really a big deal. MKG has a year of NBA experience so in my opinion that more than makes up for being 3 months younger and that would cancel out the age factor. MKG is stronger and more athletic but he isn’t nearly as skilled offensively. Porter has a very nice midrange game while MKG doesn’t have anything close to a consistent jumpshot.

MKG didn’t really improve his game at all in his rookie year. He actually played better in November and December than he did in any other months. I am not saying he won’t get better as he gets older because he is still only 19 but they might view Porter as actually having a higher ceiling because he already comes in with a jumper and can do the other things MKG does as well.
