druneave3ParticipantRound 1: #19- Archie Goodwin
Round 2: #49- Ricky LedoOption 2- If players aren’t availbale
Round 1: #19 Gorgui Dieng, Jeff Withey
Round 2: #40 Mouhammadou Jaiteh, Reggie Bullock, Solomon HillThroughout the year I have coveted many players for the Bulls in the 2013 Draft. I started the year with Jamal Franklin, then I saw his perimeter defense. Then I moved to KCP. Then struggled between the two big men slotted in that area, first wanting Withey, then Dieng. Adreian Payne and Cory Jefferson even got some love. Then I thought it would be a good idea to take Lorenzo Brown if he was going to fall that far, after being projected in the lottery early in the year (I said he would be the first PG taken, yeesh). I even considered Ricky Ledo at #19. I do however want him for the Bulls in the second round if he is available. He has to get drafted after everyone sees his talent in workouts, right? Too much talent, despite numerous concerns- attitude, moving from school to school, being labeled a program killer, and not playing last year.
Ultimately, and despite the fact that the Bulls need another interior presence really bad, I think they should take Archie Goodwin if available. I never thought I would be saying that but he’s too talented to pass up. Too quick, too athletic. He has got to be one of, if not the best players in the draft with the ability to get to the rim. Great first step. Explosive and can finish. ESPN.com college basketball writer compared him to Westbrook in terms quickness, athleticism, and also questionable decision making. 6’5 in shoes with good length. He needs to improve shot and decision making but he can do that. They took another one-and-done freshman guard from UK last year based off talent, and BPA theory. Teague was the #1 guy on their board, and I have a feeling this year might be the same, at least hoping. Goodwin, much like Teague, isn’t quite ready for the league but will be red shirtted by Thibs his first year. I think he can improve his game down the line, and eventually be an integral part of a Bulls championship run along with Rose and company.

Moon RiverParticipantI think they go with a big guy in the first round. IMO Dieng makes sense for them. With the loss of Omer Asik and the injury concerns of Noah (planter faciatis) they are very thin in those positions and need the depth. I know they have Nikola Mirotic sitting over seas but it will be a year or two before he can help in the front court.

usfballerParticipantI really want the Bulls to go big with their 1st pick. Jeff Withey would have the biggest immediate impact (unless somehow McGary came out AND fell), but I wouldn’t mind Steven Adams or Isaih Austin either. Adams reminds me a lot of Asik when he came over so I’m hoping Thibs could have a similar impact on Adams’ development. Austin is just so talented that I’d be willing to gamble on him. I believe the combo of our locker room and Thibs teaching/player development would result in, at the minimum, a 7′ stretch 4 who blocks shots and plays hard.
I have no interest in Goodwin in the first round for the Bulls. I don’t doubt his talent or ability to improve, but any 2 who can’t consistently shoot from outside is going to be hard pressed to find any minutes for the conceivable future. Much like Will Barton last year and Jamal Franklin (along with Goodwin) would be buried behind Jimmy Butler, Lou and Korver/Bellinelli/Rip/Nate and not get a chance to develop (much like Teague this year).
Love the idea of drafting Ledo in the second round, but I can’t imagine too many teams passing on his upside in the second round. If available though, he would be an almost ideal match (on paper/reputation) for Rose in the backcourt long term.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, I think Michael Snaer could be a nice stop gap 2. Thibs would love his defense and I could see Snaer being very effective in a Kieth Bogans-like role. Snaer certainly isn’t a high upside guy like Ledo, but I could also see Snaer being much more effective early in his career than Ricky Ledo. Also think newly declared Vander Blue might be worth a shot in the 2nd round.

cuseflynn10ParticipantI project Ledo to go mid to late first round while Goodwin is a late first to early second rounder, but anything can change with pre-draft workouts. I actually have Ledo to the Bulls with their first pick. They should look to add a big and another SG so it’s all a matter of who impresses them. Since Butler may get more looks as a SG with Deng at SF, they may lead towards a big with their first pick so they can have more depth.

Ghost01ParticipantI think Goodwin would be a great fit with Rose, but I do favor KCP. Just think he is more naturally a 2, and a little more polished. But he still has the athleticism.
