PG- Jack
SG- Mayo
SF- Deng
PF- Faried

No real go-to scorer but a pretty big, intimidating defensive team with some solid shooters

PG - Mike Conley (C) SG -

PG - Mike Conley (C)
SG - Klay Thompson (B)
SF - Harrison Barnes (D)
PF - LaMarcus Aldridge (A)
C - Javale McGee (E)

That's the best value team I could make up.
Conley is the best C level player, Barnes is the best D. Was tossing up between Jack and McGee for E, so had to take McGee to keep Conley in the team

Point Guard:Tony Parker -

Point Guard:

Tony Parker - Arguably best point guard in the NBA the last two seasons and a legit MVP candidate.

Shooting Guard:

Klay Thompson - Already one of the best shooters in the league and still developing the rest of his game. Superior floor spacer and I love his ability to move without the ball. Need a quick catch and shoot guy like him.

Small Forward:

Luol Deng - He's a super glue guy who can knock down open shots and has a little ability to create his own offense.

Power Forward:

Lamarcus Aldridge - Depending on whether you consider Tim Duncan a power forward or center, I think he's the best power forward in the NBA.

Center:

Marc Gasol - Easy. He's arguably the best center in the league, despite not having the best numbers. He's the ultimate team guy at both ends.

Team would thrive in the half-court and would have an equal balance between playing an inside/outside game and letting Parker do his thing with picks... Both Gasol and Aldridge can make mid-range shots consistently. Team would have huge amounts of offensive versatility and spacing. All unselfish players too.

Damn, I just saw I read the

Damn, I just saw I read the rules wrong. Let me re-do mine:

Point Guard:

C. Mike Conley - He's not a superstar, but has a lot of the qualities you want in a championship caliber point guard.

Shooting Guard:

B. Klay Thompson - Just like I said above. Great shooter already, but looks like he can develop a lot more offensively.

Small Forward:

D. Harrison Barnes - He's still young, but I believe he'll develop into a very good player. He's a better athlete than I thought he was. I like his versatility at the offensive end. I think he'll grow into a solid defender.

Power Forward:

A. Lamarcus Aldridge - Just like I said above, I think he's the best power forward in the NBA.

Center:

E. JaVale McGee - All he needs to do is defend/block shots and rebound. He and Aldridge would provide length for days in the paint. Hopefully, he grows into a smart player lol.

PG- Tony Parker- A-

PG- Tony Parker- A- championship caliber PG and leader. Second best player in this years finals.
SG- Klay Thompson- B- Great shooter for Parker to kick to and can be a solid defender(guarded Parker at times in playoffs)
SF- Carlos Delfino- E- I had to pick an E player and Delfino at least provides toughness, shooting and some defense.
PF - Kenneth Faried- D- Think this was an easy pick as he has a lot of value as a "D" player. Hustle, heart, energy, defense and rebounding and getting better offensively.
C- Marcin Gortat- C- Thought he was a better option than "B" Sanders as he is stronger and is excellent in the pick and roll. Good defender ad rebounder too.

Don't think this is a championship team but I'm not sure you can put one together from this list with those rules. Unless it is 2006 DWade. Haha

PG: Mike Conley - A steal at

PG: Mike Conley - A steal at Tier C.
SG: Kyle Korver - Solid role player, can space the floor and come off screens.
SF: Harrison Barnes - Young player who could develop as wing scorer
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge - Go-to offensive player
C: Larry Sanders - Defensive anchor who complements Aldridge well.

I was making the same list

I was making the same list then I saw yours, so no reason to be redundant. I agree with all the reasons also.

PG Conley -- a very solid

PG Conley -- a very solid point guard who can run a team and likes to get guys going. Scores, passes, steals.
SG Kyle Korver -- one dimensional but the guy can shoot. Spaces the floor for Carmelo and Conley.
SF Carmelo -- go to scorer. One of the best in the game. Can also play at the 4.
PF Kenneth Faried -- great on the glass. Good athlete with a motor.
C Larry Sanders -- another athletic rebounder plus a shot blocker to protect the rim.

I think this is the best team. An alpha superstar and go to scorer in Carmelo Anthony. A first rate point guard
in Mike Conley who is a smooth floor leader on offense and a premiere thief on defense.
Korver is the designated 3 point sniper. Faried and Sanders own the glass inside. Both guys should get plenty of put backs
and alley-oops from Conley. Sanders is also a great shot blocker. This team has size and rebounding inside, shooting, and a go-to scorer.

klay thompson
harrison barnes
lamarcus aldridge

after reading the thread

after reading the thread again, i realized this thread could have been interpreted in two different ways, so i will give you another 5.

conley
allen
deng
aldridge
mcgee

4 of the 5 players have extreme defensive power, while aldridge would be how the offense runs through. similar to what the grizzlies really are.

Conley Korver Anthony Faried

Conley
Korver
Anthony
Faried
Sanders

Conley is good C-tier value, with a go-to scorer in Carmelo. Korver spaces the floor well, and Faried and Sanders can defend and rebound with the best of them

Conley

Conley
Thompson
Barnes
Aldridge
McGee

I really wanted to pick Parker, but picking him messed everything up. My plan ended up being as follows:

1. Make sure there is no chance you end up with Perkins or Korver. Neither guy should be a starter. In Perkins case he should not ever touch the floor.
2. No point guards past C, because those guys are more combo/sixth men types.
3. Find the best value for tier (Barnes).
4. End up with at least 1 all star caliber player (Aldridge).

TEAM

PG- Conley (C)
SG- Thompson (B)
SF- Barnes (D)
PF- Bass (E)
C- Gasol (A)

No true #1 option but I don't want Melo, Wade, or LA as my top player. Each player is solid on D, unselfish, and more than capable outside shooter. Conley is a true point with he and Gasol being the focal point of the offense on PnR/P with Thompson and Barnes spacing the floor. Bass brings an added toughness and physicality while also being able to knock down mid range shots. Solid rebounders in Gasol, Bass, Barnes, and even Thompson from the SG position. Have 4 players in Gasol, Thompson, Barnes, and Conley who can all attack and get to the free throw line. Good inside-out game with Gasol and the shooters.

Fun thread. Would love to do this again.

My Team

My Team:

PG- Mike Conley (C)
SG- Tony Allen (D)
SF-Luol Deng (B)
PF- LaMarcus Aldridge (A)
C- Javale McGee (E)

-I think Mike Conley is one of the most underrated PG's in the league IMO. Could easily average 15 ppg & 7apg. Quick PG who does a good job of running a team and being the leader on the court.
-Allen & Deng make for a very nice defensive duo on the wing
-Aldridge will be the #1 option & go to scorer
-McGee will be asked to clean the boards offensively & defensively and the block some shots.

This team has the potential to be very good defensively. Might struggle on offense at times but defense will never be a problem.

Build A Team

A- Tony Parker - A dangerous slasher, who can get in the lane and kick out to shooters. Also know how be a floor general (4 option)
B-Klay Thompson- A shooter who can catch and shoot...Will grow into an elite player in time, but right now doesn't have to carry the load (3 option)
A- Carmelo Anthony- A "closer" who can post up, and shoot...can play four at times (small ball)
A- Lamarcus Aldridge - The second option on offense, can space the floor and play some minutes at center (fast ball)
A- Marc Gasol - A bruiser center who does the dirty work, play hard D, and score as well.

Nice thread...we need more of these.

Conley-plays solid defense,

Conley-plays solid defense, and i feel he would place the best with anthony

Tony Allen-plays great defense, can slash to the basket with Conley west gortat all above average passers at there positions.

Anthony-#1 option and has players that will spread the floor for him.

Dave west- solid defense and solid post game.

Gortat- solid defense and solid post game

The team is built around anthony with solid vets and is definitely in win now mode

I tried to go for balance more than anything. You get enough scoring, defense, rebounding, and overall IQ without sacrificing much of anything.

This wasn't easy for me but

This wasn't easy for me but here are my choices

PG- (c)- Mike Conley- solid playmaker and decent defender
SG- (e)- Kyle Korver - three point shooting
SF- (b)- Luol Deng- as chicago bulls being one of my favorite NBA teams had to go with Deng.
PF- (d)- Kenneth Faried- this guy is ballin for denver. Love his hungry spirit.
C- (a)- Marc Gasol- defensive player of the year last year and double double guy.

If D Wade can stay healthy

If D Wade can stay healthy then he might be the best guy to play around. A legit superstar
who can play on both sides of the ball.

PG: Mike Conley-- best value here. Great floor leader and smooth operator. Can dish, drive, and shoot. Good 3rd option.
SG: Dwayne Wade-- dynamic scorer and driver when healthy. Can also handle, pass, and, defend. Can finish and get to the line.
SF: Harrison Barnes-- a versatile young 3 who can shoot and score. Good size too. Ideal 4th option. Can also play the stretch 4 in small ball.
PF: David West-- great second option. Can score inside, hit jumpers, and rebound.
C: Javale McGee-- great athlete and shot blocker. Can get up and down the floor and dunk. Rim protector. Good alley oop target for Conley.

This team has a legit superstar alpha guy with two borderline all stars in Conley and West. Barnes and McGee for in well and give the team youth and athleticism. All these players can finish. Inside scorer in West, slasher in Wade with Conley and Barnes being the outside threats. Wade and Conley can get steals on the perimeter with McGee blocking shots inside.

Close but haven't seen it

PG: Mike Conley (C)
SG: Tony Allen (D)
SF: Loul Deng (B)
PF: Brandon Bass (E)
C: Marc Gasol (A)

And I just noticed I had three Grizzlies. Major emphasis on defense; I wouldn't particularly worry about any team except maybe a Jack (E), Thompson (B), Anthony (A), Faried (D), Gortat (C) 5. I'd run the offense through Gasol as his passing and touch are valuable in the high post, like the Spurs with Duncan. I think Bass is extremely underrated as he can spread the floor with his mid range shooting.
