any watch this game and can give a report on Rubio and Williams?

right now there’s 8 minutes left and Rubio has 6 assists and no turnovers in only 14 minutes, seems pretty good.

Williams has 12 pts in 12 minutes but only 1 reb and nothing else.

It may be early, but Rubio has made some BEAUTIFUL passes from what I have seen. I think he is the real deal and can truly hurt teams from his passing alone. D-Will had his guy posted up looked at Rubio, spun off his defender Rubio hit him with the perfect pass for an alley-oop finish.

D-Will was on the perimeter a lot from what I had seen, I don’t know what this means but he can be dominant either way making several threes and getting an and one inside the paint.

T-Wolves were VERY exciting to watch and late in the second half went absolutely crazy bombing threes on the Bucks. I don’t know if this team is as bad as some people made them out to be, a lot of talent and with a new coach could make some noise this year.

rubio looked comfortable running the offense tonight. he was paired up with barea, who played the 2. he often came off pick and roll’s and found the open man nearly everytime. his passing vision was not a question tonight. on defense, he played the passing lanes well, getting a couple of steals. but pretty quiet otherwise (not too much threat by the bucks guards)

williams looked fairly lost on offense, only scoring on open threes. he did have a nice backdoor ally oop from rubio, but otherwise he didn’t create for himself. other than that, he was a non factor for most of the game, but i expect him to become more comfortable quickly.

you can watch the game on atdhe.tv

How was Williams on defense, I’m just wondering if he can guard 4’s or if he’s a 3. Kinda seems pointless to carry Beasley/Williams/Love, should try to trade one of them for a good piece.

seems a bright future for Wolves, and took them a lot of time and some picks, with that, will they trade Beasly for a center?

For the people who are in minnesota, FSN is replaying the game at midnight. Just from looking at the box score it looks like all our new additions did well.

I think that Love can play the center, he seemed to be more athletic. Beasley is fine where he is. I think that they will be improved this year. Their players seemed to play well with each other. Bonzi will get cut. Anthony randolf didnt do much he doesnt seem like he has a position. They do need to get a center, hopefully through free angentcy this year or next, so that they can keep thier depth. They can go 10 to 11 deep if they have t, that should help this year. If either milicic or pekovic steps up they could make the playoffs. They are an above average center away from being a legitmate playoff contender. Beasley seems to have matured and if he works hard he could be special. That is random twolves news.

The Wolves are going to surprise a lot of people this year but I’m not one of them.  The Hornets own pick will end up being higher then the Wolves pick.  And I remember Jennings talkin ish on Rubio saying if he were to come to America and go thru the draft process like everyone else that players like Jennings, Flynn, and Holiday would expose him for being a product of the hype machine.  It’s good too see Rubio come out and temporarily mute the hate.

Derrick Williams is an amazing shooter I just hope he dont become to dependant on it and settle for long jumpers instead of staying aggresive.  He put on muscle and now looks like a natural PF although his athleticism and jumper will alow him to play SF it looks like he’s more of a natural PF right now as compared to Beasley who trimmed down to be able to play on the perimeter.

And Kevin Love with only a 6’11 wingspan and a 8’10 standing reach simply doesn’t have the length to play center full time thats why Darko with his 7’5 wingspan and 9’5 standing reach starts at center them extra inches are crucial in the post.

If Adleman can get this team to play some defense and lower the turnovers, it would not shock me to see them in the playoffs or at least battling for a playoff spot.

I can see them doing what the Clippers did last year and battle for a spot but ultimatley show their youth.  This actually depends a lot on Rubio if he can take that starting spot from Ridnour and spark this team to hit on all cylinders they can go to the playoffs.  Cause Rubio is the type of PG that manufactures team chemistry with passing wizardry just like Kendell Marshall does for UNC.

What do you think of Wes Johnson? He was not really all that impressive last year and looked terrible tonight. Barea started at SG during the Finals last year, but im not sure thats the best role for him for a whole season.

Rubio was very exciting but a lot of us knew that, he had a lot of freedom running the Point Guard position, i’m not sure whether Adleman decided to let Rubio do whatever he wanted or that Rubio doesn’t know the offense yet, either way, he made some lovely dimes that will continue throughout the upcoming season. Also, he had two steals, he’s always been a ballhawk in Europe so again it’s no surprise he’s doing it in the NBA (albeit one game).

His overall production looks very interesting, it’s not out of the realm of posibility for him to get a triple-double at some point but it’s only one game, if we judged everyone by one game, the NBA would be much different.

It appears he can’t create for himself yet, but his penetration is dangerous because he can go strong and go to the line or he can kick it out with deadly accuracy and speed. I don’t think his lack of finding his own shot is much of a problem when he can create for others so well.

Also, Rubio rolled over on his ankle and came back to play, so nothing too serious. Derrick WIlliams looks like an awesome talent, he seems to get overlooked alot, his three point shooting was exceptional and overall, he can get to the basket strong. He has the capability to average 20ppg in his rookie season, it’s a shame he’s on the T’Wolves, because he’ll be fighting for minutes, if he was on the Cavs, Raptors or Bobcats he’d be the clear starter and main man. It seems Beasley has noticed his starting spot is no longer as comfortable as it once was, and he looked very toned and cut his hair buzz short, he looked like the dominating college Michael Beasely in appearance and play. Let’s not forget, Derrick Rose won the MVP, Beasley has a massive chip on his shoulder now, it’s unlikely he’ll become an MVP performer but the Derrick’s (Rose & Williams) have gave him a large sliver boot to his backside that he greatly needed.

As for the T’Wolves’ playoff aspirations, no, there’s no way they will win 45-50 games next season, they play too offensively to merit a playoff position. I can see a mild improvement with the new additions but the playoffs is a big ask at this point, their future appears to be in the playoffs, it just won’t be their time this season.
