BallerScriptParticipantBucks get:
- Jordan Adams
- 17th Pick
- Future 2nd Rounders
Grizzlies get:
- 10th Pick
The Grizzlies are enamored with the talents of Malachi Richardson and the Jazz reportedly have a lot of interest in Malachi aswell. With this trade the Bucks get a shooter in Adams to help their spacing and the opportunity to take a player like Baldwin or Thon at a more reasomable price.
An alternative trade could be the same assests for the Jazz pick.

kerrstParticipantto go from the 10th spot to the 17th. Can get much better shooter in Korkmaz, Baldwin or even Skal. Adams has done nothing in the league to warrant trading down from a lotto pick.

The GoatParticipantI’d be trying to trade Monroe to the Pels or Minny for their pick. He seems to fit it in either place. The Bucks could try grab Hield or Murray.

binetParticipantMonroe was a free agent last year and clearly his first season with the bucks was disappointing. I am not sure his stock is high enough to be worth much more than absorbing his contract…
His numbers and what he has shown previously could do something in his favor though.
Minnesota would never trade their pick for him, but in the case the bucks are willing to absorb some of the pelicans worse contracts like Asik it’s possible. Actually, swapping big men and swapping first round picks seems like a reasonable trade.

machu46ParticipantThe guy averaged 19/11/3/1/1 per 36 minutes this year on good efficiency. The on/off court splits had him at a +4/100 possessions, 2nd best on the team (behind only Middleton). BPM, VORP, PER, etc. all put Monroe in the top 5-10 C/PF’s in the NBA. He’s getting paid under $18 million per year, while guys like Bismack Biyombo are expected to get around $15 million per year. As long as you can fit him into a defensive system that doesn’t require him to run around like a chicken with its head cut off like Milwaukee does, he’s easily worth his contract. The idea that he would be moved as a salary dump like he’s Omer Asik or Nikola Pekovic is just silly.
At a minimum, Monroe will fetch a 1st round pick in the 15-20ish range. I’d suspect that Milwaukee could probably get something like #16 and Kelly Olynyk (not saying Boston is interested, but saying that’s about the value I’d expect). Teams will be interested in a guy that can score, pass, rebound, and isn’t a bad one on one defender in the post.
Edit: Sorry that this is a response to your post specifically because you aren’t nearly as harsh as some others have been in regards to Monroe, but I’ve seen tons of people imply that Monroe has negative trade value and that’s just silly.

BiggysmallsParticipantIsn’t Monroe essentially on an expiring contract though because of some opt-out? Man there are way too many opt outs in contracts these days. It makes it damn near impossible to know who’s a FA, who isn’t, who’s staying and who’s going.
Either way, I don’t think Monroe is a great fit in MN. He’s a good rebounder, which they need, but his defense isn’t great and he’s not very good without the ball. The Wolves need a big that can impact the game without needing the ball. Get a guy who can roam on the baseline, set picks and hit the offensive glass while playing good D. Monroe doesn’t do much of that stuff. He’s skilled, and his passing could be valuable if Thibs wanted to activate him in that high post area like he did with Noah but I wonder if he’s got the range defensively to stick.
He’d fit the mold of a young veteran that I’d imagine they are targeting though.
