The Bucks are a Top 3 playoff team
If Atlanta resigns Joe Johnson the Hawks will be better then the Bucks. So will Orlando, Boston, and maybe Miami (if Bosh joins Wade). Also whichever team LeBron winds up on (possibly Chicago, or Cleveland). I think Redd's career is pretty much over, and he will never be the player he once was again. Also, that injury Bogut suffered was really bad. I almost lose my lunch every time they still show the replay of him going down. That won't be easy to come back from. If Ridnour leaves that's another blow. I've never been a Gooden fan, and don't think that much of Roberts either. Maggette was a good pick up, but unless they bring back Salmons, then it's pretty much a wash. I'm guessing about fifth place for the Bucks, depending on how free agency shakes out with all the top guys.
WHOA!!! Hold your horses about making them title contenders..They overpaid for Gooden..He's a good rebounder..But not a banger..But i do love what they've done this off season is in such a short time...Now its about how well their chemistry will be..I think Sanders was a wise choice..He's not there yet offensively..But on his defense alone he's NBA ready...Jerome Jordan & Tiny Gallon might be a sleepers..CDR plays like a 10 year vet..1 question is rather or not Bogut can return to the level he was playing at before he left...If Bogut comes back completely healthy this team is capable of maybe being a 4 seed in the East...Even if Redd doesnt return..
The Bucks have had a good summer, but I think it's too soon to claim they'll be a top three team in the East. We have to wait to see how free-agency plays out.
Plus Bogut, the Bucks best player, is also coming off of a serious injury. Salmons hasn't re-signed. Redd's injury is career threatening. Sanders, Hobson and Gallon are rookies. Maggette was selfish and didn't defend in Golden State. The Bucks also won't sneak up on anybody next season.
I think it's too soon to say, but they're moving in a good direction.
Well last season- Cleveland, Orlando and Atlanta were 1, 2 and 3 last season
If the Bucks could add a backup PG- They are 100% better then the Hawks. Cleveland losing LeBron? At worst there 4th. But here are a deal ( realistic) to make this team even better
Trade 1: Milwaukee sends Micheal Redd, Carlos Delfino and 2011 1st round pick to Minnesota for Al Jefferson
Why? Milwaukee needs a Banger and Jefferson's that guy. Minnesota gets 2 exp deals and a 2011 1st rounder to play with. Micheal Redd could also be someone who could help next season if healthy.
A little to early to say top 3 depending on where all the free agents go but with all these moves they should be in the mix for a top 4 seed.
BOS isn't getting any younger and kg allen and pierce will probably drop off some.
NY could be dangerous if they sign maybe stoudemire and gay but thats still only a borderline playoff team.
NJ will improve A LOT if they get boozer or stoudemire but only 7 or 8 seed at best.
CHI could be the most dangerous team in the east with lebron and boozer or amare but theres no guarantee that lebron goes there.
CLE will be top 2 in the reg season but only with lebron of course.
ORL will again be in the top 3.
ATL could challenge but MIL took them to 7 in the first round without bogut and MIL looks to have a better roster than them right now.
MIA goes right along with CHI if they can get bosh and a few other nice players with wade.
For MIL without any major injuries and as long as jennings improves and maggette fits their system they would have to be considered a definite contender in the east but theres still a lot to unfold in the next couple weeks.
I think the Bucks will be top five... Just can't see them in the top three though. Like I said above... Majority of it depends on free-agency.
I think the East will be more competitive this year. I expect the Nets, Wizards, Knicks and even the 76ers to improve. I don't think the Bucks will sneak up on the elite teams and it'll be tougher to beat the lower teams.
what if the bucks did a sign and trade of luke rhidinour for farmar and then the bucks signed channing frye that would be a good team and scott skiles would make frye a great defender and inside scorer and how could you argue with this line up
jenning,farmar
salmons,cdr,redd
maggette,delfino,luc,hobson
frye,gooden,erasan
bogut,sander.gallon
and next year the bucks hav 18mil to spend so who could they intice with that?
With the news of the Bucks most likely bring back John Salmons, this team is scary. Not only did they do that, they also added Corey Maggette, Drew Gooden, Chris Douglas Roberts/ in Free Agency/Trades. They need a backup PG however. With all the SG/SF/PF type player they have, they might look to move one to add a backup PG like Beno Udrih or even Jose Calderon.
Jennings- Salmons- Maggettee- Gooden- Bogut
Roberts- Sanders- Hobson-Gallon- Delfino- Illusova- Moute- Redd
This is one deep team. Thoughts? I still feel there a banger away from a title contender.
