OhCanada-ParticipantWith the Raptors up 45 points against Milwaukee Bruno has recieved a shift. Hes already dropped 5-points in about 3 minutes. Nice to see him get some run definitely looks like he fits in.

B-ball fanParticipant"Bruno" and "Let’s go Bruno" chants were super loud the entire 4th quarter. On dead balls, you could hear fans screaming his name. Once, when Bruno held his arms out to protest a foul call, you could hear a fan exclaim, "Bruno’s arms are so long." The crowd was really getting behind their young player.
Bruno was also pretty good. 8 points and had a few shots just rim out on him. He made a nice shimmy shake leading to a turnaround J that just barely missed. And he was not at all afraid of the moment. He shot or turned the ball over on each of his first 5 possessions in the game.
The Rashard Lewis comparisons may be apt. The Bucks basically sleepwalked the entire game and barely had a pulse when Bruno was in, but it was still nice to see him not be afraid to attack from his first moment on the court.

OhCanada-ParticipantStill dont understand how Toronto grabbed Noguiera and Williams for Novak. I get the whole shedding cap concept but man Ujiri is a boss! Lucas looked solid now that he is healthy. They need seasoning definitely not ready to be rotation players on this Raptors team but they would probally log 25-mpg on Philly lol.

B-ball fanParticipantNogueira wans’t necessarily effective, but he looked like he belongs in the league, or will when he gets experience. His reach is just insane and he is really mobile with good hands. That is enough to make it in the league.

220ParticipantThe Raptors traded John Salmons (not Steve Novak) to get Lou Williams and Lucas Noguiera.

OhCanada-ParticipantKinda looked lost on the floor though but the raw abillity he has is very exciting. Probally would have fouled out if he played 15 minutes against real rotation players.

ahuang16ParticipantJust reflecting on what this guy has done, gotten rid of Andrea Bargnani and Rudy Gay’s contracts, turned John Salmons into Lou Williams and Lucas Noguiera, and acquiring role players like Patrick Patterson and James Johnson to surround a core led by Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan. While he hasn’t acquired any big-named stars he turned the Raptors into a playoff team that now leads the Atlantic. All within just over a year on the job.
And now he has drafted Bruno Caboclo, a guy he has sold to the Raptors fanbase as a potential superstar of the future. Hopefully the pieces will come together and they will be able to take the next step that Ujiri’s Nuggets never were able to do.

OhCanada-ParticipantOh yah it was Salmons to Atlanta. Novak went to Utah.
Caboclo being a superstar would be wishful thinking but its way too soon to suggest such a thing. I think the whole idea of drafting him is a great concept. Hes a freak of nature physically. He is uncharacteristically mobile and agile for a player his size and players with his athletisism and length rarely can shoot but his best qaulity right now as far as the NBA is concerned and the reason why he will defenitely make it longterm is his shooting.
As far as potential superstar goes thats just reaching at this point he still hasnt showed enough to justify those claims. But it will be nice watching him slowly work his way into the rotation in the future.

Lotto StudParticipantIf what I am about to express makes any sense to anyone… How does one pitch a player such as Bruno to become a Superstar of the future while DeRozan and Ross are still in uniform?

Mr. HookShotParticipantThey picked him up at what, the 20th pick. Considering they have a solid team with more than enough good role players they decided to swing for the fences in the hope of grabbing an unknown (super)star. Could they have grabbed him later in the draft? Perhaps, but if you don’t believe in any of the other players becoming more than a role player (and if you look at the draft I don’t see any potential star players) why not take a gamble?

kanuflengParticipantthis guy has crazy length. hes to skinny right now but definitely would mature and slowly put some muscles. good to see him play even in garbage time, for a guy who was expected to be “2 yrs away from being 2 yrs away”. would have love to see him play against his doppelganger, Greek freak, in this game!
