Brooklyn's Lopez named to NBA All-Star team
Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez has been named by NBA Commissioner David Stern to replace injured East All-Star Rajon Rondo of the Boston Celtics in the 2013 NBA All-Star Game in Houston.
Lopez, who will make his first All-Star Game appearance, is averaging 18.6 points and 7.3 rebounds in 38 games for the Nets who stand in second place in the Atlantic Division with a 27-18 record.
The 62nd NBA All-Star Game will be played at the Toyota Center in Houston on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 8 p.m. ET.
Thank god Stern didn't wet the bed on this one.
Who will replace Rondo in the starting lineup? I read somewhere that Spo may Coach the East and start Bosh along with KG , Melo, and Bron and Wade at the guard positions. Any truth to that?
I dont think he will he will probably start Kyrie with a chance for Jrue Holiday to get it
if not Irving or Holiday, I would say that they should either start Noah or Chandler so that they can have a real center in their starting lineup. I'd rather have Noah or Chandler guard Dwight rather than bosh or Garnett imo
He deserved it but honestly Brook Lopez will be the most boring player in the ASG since Memet Okur
This guy deserved it *Cut to Jeff Van Gundy suggesting Steph Curry should make it even though he's in the West, that they need to change the technical foul rule, that they need to change the replay rule, that he dislikes the fact their are 12 all stars instead of 13, that you should get an assist for FT shots, and that the all star game should have no coach*. Yeah, Jeff Van Gundy, the "A Team" announcer, spends 90% of the game complaining and I randomly decided to bring it up here.
