ropeParticipantIt’s really a shame that he is caught up in this. I wasn’t at his first varsity game (as a freshman), but I listened on the radio. I remember the somewhat stunned announcers talked about his potential.
Even if all he ends up with is ineligibility, this is a big bump in the road toward meeting that potential.
Saginaw is a rough town. I was glad when he got the chance to move on to a national prep program. Seems he got caught up in how all of this mess works, though. You take some of the blame when you are on the receiving end and know it is "wrong," but with the situational ethics that surrounds the NCAA and amateur athletics, you can understand it.
There was some discussion around here that Lousiville coming into the picture didn’t really pass the smell test. Guess it wasn’t just a rumor.
Between this and LaVar Ball basically saying, "screw the NCAA, we are ready to make money now," "amateur" basketball as we know it is about to change a lot.
