DanEboyParticipantI know he has been mentioned on here, especially after his 43 point outburst over Ohio State. I have been watching him over the last couple of seasons and have been waiting for him to put it all together. Over his last nine games, his averages are:
19.9 pts 6.3 reb 2.7 ast 2.0 stl 1.1 blk 42% fg, 2.6/40% 3’s, 80% ft
He still turns the ball over a ton (4.4 over those nine games), but his overall game has improved dramatically over this season. He is a very good rebounder for his position, attacks the rim (6.9 FT attempts over his last eight), and can stroke it from downtown. At 6’-4” 200 lbs, he also has that Chicago toughness about him, like Wade and Rose possess. <- Not comparing abilities people. He isn’t on the mock for 2012 or 2013. Anyone think with another year of refining his skills he could be a first rounder next year? Thoughts on his game?

river09ParticipantUntil he gets his turnovers down it would be tough to convince pro teams to give him much of a shot. But he has made quite an impression in terms of his ability to shoot the ball.. both off the dribble and spotting up.. I always hope there is a place in the league for shooters and I do think he can be a player that teams bring in off the bench, play solid D and hit a few shots… I say 2013 might just be his year.. I don’t see him coming out this year, but there will be a fair bit of hype surrounding him next year if he plays well down the stretch this year for the illini and that might be all he needs to really start turning heads..

Give him another 5 years and he might crack the second round of the D-League draft. He’s an undersized shooting guard that can’t shoot and turns the ball over at a high rate. No thanks.

Hi its BenParticipant^^the sad thing is you’re serious..

Maniac MaciejParticipantHe may have the prettiest jump shot in the world, but he’s shooting 39% this year and 33% from the college 3. He had one incredible game, but he has yet to show anything that would indicate that he is a consistently reliable shooter or scorer in the college game… Can’t imagine that will impress too many NBA scouts.

DanEboyParticipantWhich is why I said, "if he continues to work on his game." Stop looking at overall numbers, they don’t tell the whole story. And how is he undersized at 6′-4" 200 lbs? You don’t have to be a 6′-6" to get your shot off in the NBA.
And why am I even responding to this guy?
Thanks for the feedback guys. Some guys take longer to develop than others. I think with a solid senior season, he has a chance to make it.

Ghost01ParticipantI think he has moderate NBA potential. He will have to get much better next year, and expand his game. Hes not that undersized (as you mentioned, D Wade sized) and I think he can be a legit NBA player. He is averaging 20 a game in conference play, so its not like hes been aweful aside from that one game.

Dale WorthingtonParticipantHe’s about 6’3/6’4. He is undersized at the 2. It’s just a fact. He has nice bounce though. Needs to work on his decision-making and jumpshot.

So raspyParticipantIf he comes back next year with a more consistent jumpshot and puts up big numbers he’ll get a chance. First round is a stretch tho imo
