TarHeelRavenParticipantOne of the great things about being a college basketball fan is following recruiting and seeing if your school is possibly going to land some of the best high school players year in and year out. The recruitment of Brandon Ingram has been the most intriguing. It looks like Duke and UNC are going toe to toe for his services Ingram is from Kinston, nc and Kinston HS has obviously produced a great college player in Stackhouse and a good one in Reggie Bullock who both went to Carolina obviously. Duke seems to confident in their ability to end thattrend and have Ingram come to Durham. From what I’ve read Duke has held a slight lead over Carolina for a while. Duke already has 2 five star recruits in Chase Jeter and Luke Kennard and Carolina has yet to secure a recruit from the 2015 class. The commitment of Ingram to either Duke or Carolina is big for both schools in order to turn the tide for the 2015. More so for Carolina. I know NCballer had some info on the recruitment from a recent post, Does anybody know wher Ingram is leaning in this great North Carolina recruiting battle?

ncballerFrom what I heard and with the way his in-homes are set up, I would be shocked of he ends up at Duke. My sources could be wrong, but this has UNC all over it from everything I have been told. TarHeelRaven, did you see my post from the other thread when you inquired about my info?

ncballerRaven, in other news, be cautiously optimistic about Skal Labisierre, from what I hear he came away enamored from his visit to UNC on Saturday and really hit it off with the team. I think UNC officially entered the 3 horse race with UK and Memphis, and might be leading…
I think UNC ends up with Ingram, Dozier and one of Rabb or Skal.

TarHeelRavenParticipantYeah, I saw he had a really good visit on insidecarolina.com. I don’t have the insider subscription, so I didn’t get the details, but it looked like he had a great visit. It seemed as though hometown Memphis was a lock but visits to campus can really change guys minds of they feel comfortable with the team and the town. I haven’t heard much about Rabb, just that experts have Arizona as the favorite. Also, Stephen Zimmerman seems like a long shot.

ncballerFrankly I am not as big of a fan of Zimmerman as I am of Rabb and especially Skal. He is one of those players that you watch and think how he doesn’t dominate more with his skill set. UNC needs a stud one and done from this class to get back to competing with Duke, UK and KU on the trail, and I am not convinced Zimm is one. I am convinced that Skal, Ingram and Rabb are.
Ingram had an in home with Roy this morning at 12:01 AM (right when it was legal to). Family set another official to UNC for Late Night with Roy. This will be his second official visit to UNC and since his recruiting process started about his 15th visit to UNC. (note he has visited Duke once which is 8 miles down the road and doesn’t have an in-home set up with them from his finalists)
Again from everything I am hearing (and his actions back up what I am hearing) UNC is probably going to get him.

ncballerJust heard that Brandon is at the UNC vs ECU football game. The game is at ECU. Very telling IMHO.

GBeeParticipantwhy is that telling? isnt that like a short drive from home for him?
most of what i’ve read still says that duke has the momentum.

ncballerI know people in Kinston. You are right they did until his OV there (went horrible). Not to mention he visited UNC on his way back from his OV at Duke, then visited UNC again on way back from elite 24 and on top of that scheduled his second OV to UNC after his in home with Roy. He scheduled in homes with every coach on his final list except for one…Coach K.
Could he chose Duke? For sure. If he did I would be shocked from watching his actions and from everything I am hearing from Kinston.
