I haven’t seen him play but being a Portland fan this interested me so I looked him up. He looks long but is listed at 6’8, LaMarcus is a legit 6’11 with a 7’4.75 wingspan. Also I didn’t see much midrange game from him in his highlights and that is what seperates LaMarcus from others.

of course haha, hes 6’5 tho, a hard jumpshot and cant go right. hes a beast in high school but we will see what hes does in college. shit look at austin rivers did in high school, now he might be a late lottery to 20 something in draft. Ashley has an NBA body, is long and athletic, potential is La or Kg status bro.

Shabazz Muhammad is nothing like Austin Rivers. He has such a more well-rounded game including better defending, size, rebounding and athleticism, and Shabazz isn’t the chucker that Austin can be at times.

i just finished watching the ESPN NHIS game, Brandon will be good at the college level, the power of Bennett really stood out. Findlay came back from 18 to win in OT

Hill for Montverde was nice as well, wonder why Oak Hill wasn’t in the tourney? Nigel Goss Williams hit the game winner with his patented floater

I pray you’re not basing this on the game they just (barely) won against Montverde

oak hill went to china instead to play.. but i know shabazz and austin are different, im saying domianting on the highschool level VS college. dont overhype shabazz, he needs allot work just like my guy Savon Goodman, dunks are nice, but he has to evolve more. he has potential tho.

shabazz does more than dunk. he has not got the ball a lot this year, he has not really taken more than 15 shots a game. when he does get the ball he is shooting a high percentage from the field and he is shooting good from three. also, he has been showing the ability to create for himself well. to echo the point in the comment above, shabazz takes way better shots than rivers, also he has a better work ethic and shows better body launguage on the court.

One good game against a school that really didn’t have what to offer in terms of frontline ? Ashley is good no doubt, but he is just 6’8 and an average athlete at best NBA standards, he does have pretty good length but really doesn’t stand out with his physical atributes although he is quite skilled as his age bigmen.

However, I do believe he will be a good college player at Zona and could very well become NBA player if he continues gettting stronger and working on his skillset. That being said I like Grant Jerrett another PF Zona commit more than Ashley, Jerrett has better size, he is highly skilled and he has started to get national attention just recently.

Talking about Findlay Prep, I’m in love with Anthony Bennett. He is just a beast, he may be a tweener but he is good and we are looking at NBA player without a doubt. He has outstanding frame, very long arms ( wouldn’t be surprised if wingspan is around 7’3 ) great athletism , strength and explosiness. While possesing terrific physical atributes he also has great skillset and is great shooter with really sweet stroke. Whichever college will he choose he will be able to make huge impact from the very first day.

I also like Winston Shepard, he is a great adition to San Diego State and will make fans remember Kawhi Leonard with his defensive potential. While not being such a freak as Kawhi is in terms of length, Shepard is very good athlete with excellent length and size as a small forward (6’8 210 ). At the college level he will be able defend 4 positions without a doubt.

Overall, Findlay has huge amount of talent it will be really interesting who eventually will reach the NBA.

i like him but he also has to share time with kaleb, grant jerrett (both five star big men recruits going to Arizona) and solomon hill. hopefully he gets the min he needs to stand out. that could be a very fun team to watch next year with nick johnson and josiah turner

His length is not bad, but I think that he might take a little while in college. He is definitely in between positions and he is a good but not great athlete. Apparently he looked just average at McDonald’s practices and he had trouble guarding bigger players. He was measured at 6’7 (w/ shoes) with a 6’8 wingspan at the LeBron James Skills academy last summer, though apparently those measurements might be slightly off.

Still, do not think he is 6’9 or 6’10. If he were the #1 pick over Shabazz Muhammad and crew next year or Jabari Parker and crew the year after, I would be pretty damn surprised. He seems to be garnering Derrick Williams comparisons, which are not really doing him to many favors at this point. I hear he wants to be a one and done, but he will need to do work to move up the draft chart above some of the big names in 2013.

As far as being (or playing) like a player who was 6’11 with a 7’6 wingspan and runs like a deer? Sorry, just don’t see it. I like him as a prospect, but I do not have LaMarcus Aldridge expectations in the slightest.

I think he has a chance to be a lottery pick, but definitely not #1 next year. Guys like Shabazz, Noel, Zeller, and a few others are easily ahead of him right now. And if you are talking about the 2014 draft, Jabari Parker will likely go #1. He would just have to dominate next year to even be somewhat in the conversation for #1. And I higly doubt he will do that considering how deep Arizona’s frontcourt will be. And even if they weren’t that deep, I dont think he has the skill to dominate like that as a Freshmen.

I caught a little bit of the game today and Ashley looked pretty solid. He looked alot like Perry Jones to me. Smooth looking body (no homo?) and nice handles from the post and elbow area. If he is only 6’9 hes going to have to keep improving his elbow and face up games though but he was definilty impressive.

Funny OP, but why is this kid still listed as having a 6’8 wingspan? That sounds like a huge error since his wingspan looks a good 4-5 inches longer than that. It’s been listed as that on multiple websites as well and it’s the type of error that can hurt a kid’s stock or be an immediate turnoff for scouts.

He’s been one of the best freshmen in the country and his game does not match those dimensions at all (9 boards and 2 blocks in 23 mpg). IMO, that measurement listing either should be changed or removed altogether.
