Is Bradley Beal now the best player on the Wizards?

Love this guy. He went toe to toe with Russ last night, finishing with 41pts, 7assists & 6 three's. All while getting the Roberson/PG-13 defensive treatment.

This post isn't to disprespect John Wall, who is a legit top 6-7 point guard. But Beal is so composed on the offensive side of the floor, and can beat you in so many ways. He's also strong as a bull, getting to the rim & being able to finish with either hand in traffic.

I believe he still has another level to reach too. Just a great, all-around player.

I like the Ray Allen

I like the Ray Allen comparison for Brad, their shooting is both at an elite level. I wouldn't say he is at the level Ray reached as an off the ball player yet but he is good in that skill too.

I would say he has claims to be the Wizards best player at the moment and fully deserves his All Star call up.

I'd say he has been there

I'd say he has been there best player this season. He has clearly emerged as their best overall scorer and his all-around game consistently improved while wall has shown some regression this season. If only one player from the wizards could be selected to the all-star game this year, I'd pick Beal easily.

However, this team is still built around wall and I'd still consider him to be their most valuable player at this time. With his penetrating and playmaking ability, he has the ability to lift his teammates in a way Beal can't really do. When wall is at his best, the team is generally playing it's best basketball and when he isn't they tend to struggle.

Not sure I'd say he's their

Not sure I'd say he's their best player, but he's definitely their most offensively versatile. Wall is kind of a one trick pony. He's really good (maybe even great) at that one trick, but he hasn't ever really branched out.

Chill

Bradley Beal got hella wide open 3s all game because OKC doesn’t close out on shooters. He was not wet-balling PG or Robes like you made it sound haha. He is definely their best offensive threat though

Chill?

I didn't make a claim. The motivation for my post was to see if the forum valued Beal's overall skill-set more than Wall's this season. And to celebrate a player I really like going off for 41.

I watched the game, and yes Beal did damage on the switch during pick & rolls, but he also took Roberson & George off the dribble & did drain a couple three's with them closing out. Watch the highlights if you don't believe me.

Beal and the Wizards...

I have always been a fan of his game. I personally thought the Hornets should have taken him over MKG but thats another topic all together..

Who is the face of the Wizards that is dependent on what you are looking for do you want a facilitator or scorer?

There is issues with both Beal and Wall.

Beal is the more injury prone of the two this is one of his more durable seasons so far but has a well rounded game.

vs

Wall has an unreliable jump shot(which will hurt him as he ages) but is more durable than Beal at this point.

Personally I think Beal has the more well rounded game of the two and his game will age better than Wall's but to be fair I don't know if either is really a first or 2nd option on a legit contender..

They sort of fall into that PG/Damian lillard level player very good but I don't know if they will every lead to you either a Confernce Finals or Finals being the main options..They sort of need that other player to be the Main option: Sort of Like Pg playing Russell now and Klay and Curry playing together to help shoulder most of the heavy lifting and then they still contribute but with less pressure.

This is why I sort of see the Wizards being capped out and they have maxed out their talent levels making it very hard for them to be a legit threat..Hence the frustration from Wall and Co as they probably know this already.

Their only options are these: Blow it all up and get something while the players have some value which I am sure they could get something for Wall/Beal,Go full tank mode or Some how get that one last player that may lift them to the level of elite and that is all dependent on if you believe they are one more player at the level of beal and wall or a franchise changer(Westbrook,Curry,Lebron,K,D or insert name here) from taking that jump..
