LA12ParticipantBoth guys have been compared to Ray Allen, but which on would you take? I know Mclemore’s the more athletic one, but Beal just seems to know the game better and to me is a better shot creator.

omphalosParticipantBeal has a much better handle and just seems mentally tougher. I’m really not buying the McLemore hype.

BasketBalAllanParticipantA bit early for this…
Can we wait until we have seen B.Mac in a real NBA game first?

WITNESS2014ParticipantBmac had better athletic testing at the combine. I think their shot is pretty close, a big difference between them is Beal is a lot stronger right now witch helps him defensively. Way too early to tell though. Bmac has more upside but can her get there?

Bmore_DCParticipantWay too early…Beal looked pretty impressive in his rookie year and BMac hasnt even played yet…i just wanna know why he dropped like that? What did the scouts see? Or was it all mental?
Either way, as of now, im taking Beal all day.

DolanCareParticipantBeal can actually create his own shot- a prerequisite for a guard to be great.

theballerwayParticipantaau team . Be al can’t create just like Ben. Both have a smooth stroke and move very well of the ball tho with GD IQ hence the coaching reference

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantBeal is so solid I want to go with him because there’s no downside because he may spend the rest of his career as a top 12 shooting guard. But McLemore shoots for percentage better and is just as streaky but still keeps a higher percentage. Beal’s stroke and mechanics looked as pretty and consistent as we have seen coming out of college in years but McLemore’s looks even better. Neither guy can slash with the ball, Beal is a better handler but he can’t take any 2 guard in the League off the dribble in iso, so what does it matter, ball handling for them is a push, B Mac can’t and I watched the Wiz early on try to play Beal at 1 and it wasn’t pretty.
In the end I have to go with Beal simply because he is in a much better situation. The Wiz want to win and whether they do or not they will try which is worth a lot in Conference were only half the teams will do that for the next 2 or 3 years.
We will probably never know how good McLemore could be. There is no doubt in my mind that his development will be arrested by playing for the Kings organization. They are going to max Boogie out for at least 4 years, maybe five and give him some say in personnel. Whenever a guy gets paid before he deserves it (especially bigs and they always do), it usually turns out bad. (Sidenote, Cousins has done more to earn a max than Favors has done to earn a 10+ contract, so far, just saying, if both sign before the season starts, who will avg. more points than millions?) Sac town ain’t going to the playoffs for the next 4 years and if they flirt they lose a first rounder, thats top 12, then 10 protected till 2016. Beal has guys like Nene and Okafor as role models and McLemore has Cousins and Thornton.
