Murray State fans might complain if they fail to receive a number 1 seed..But the selection committee wont be impressed with them beating Eastern Illinois,USM,UAB,Tennessee Martin,Tennessee Tech,Arkansas State,SIU Edwardsville and Alaska Anchorage…

But i do expect them to cause some noise in the tounament…

They have three good wins: SOuthern Miss, Dayton, and Memphis but are no where near a top ten team. They have Sweet Sixteen upside but thats about it.

… they’re 21-0 they deserve and most likely will receive better than a 6 seed. remember when st. joseph’s got a #1 seed in 2004?

Thats a little different… the A-10 is on a whole different level than the OVC where Murray St is one of the few teams with a record above .500. Look at the A-10 this year and you’ll see it is a 3-4bid league where the OVC would only get an at-large if Murray St lost in the conference tourney.

An example of the strength in the A-10 is URI who is 4-18 this year knocked off Dayton at Dayton last night. Their talent level far exceeds a 4-18 team and they have been at the top of the A-10 for years.

Pretty sure teams like George mason VCU and butler (twice) have proven that a mid-major team can win. Even without a star like Jimmer or Curry. It all depends on seeding and matchups. I hate when people say oh they haven’t beat anybody or they have no quality wins or well they play in so and so league.. When does it ever matter in the tournament? Ever? Butler was a half court shot away from beating one of the best basketball programs for the national championship..
