providencefriars1Participant11/17 *neutral siteGame I watched: Texas A&M 60 at* Mississippi St 69Mississippi St started the game with a commanding 31-9 run and never looked back. A&M immediately went on a run of their own to get the lead to single digits, but the Bulldogs kept them at arms length to win the game. Highly touted big man Renardo Sidney struggled, he did not hit a shot from the floor and at one point had to call a time out so he could puke. Arnett Moultrie, their other starting big man, played great defense, hustled and grabbed 9 rebounds, but quite frankly he sucks on offense. He missed many finishes at the rim and ended 2/8 from the floor. Freshman Rodney Hood and Seniors Dee Bost and Brian Bryant led Miss St offensively to the win. As of now they look like a team that will make the tourney, but lose in the round of 64.Texas A&M started out the game lethargically and could never fully recover. Ray Turner who averaged 20ppg through the first two games, got in foul trouble early and never got any offense going. He finished with just 2 points. All in all, I was impressed by Texas A&M’s comeback, but they wont do very well if they start more games like they did tonight. The Aggies should be much better with Kris Middleton so it is hard to give them an assessment right now.Purdue 91 at* Iona 90LSU 82 at* Northwestern 88Maryland 42 at Alabama 62VCU 54 at* Seton Hall 69Fairfield 57 at Minnesota 67Wichita St 67 at* Colorado 58Georgia Tech 53 at* St Joes 66St Johns 72 at* Arizona 81USC 54 at SDSU 56Prospect watchErving Walker, PG Florida- 17pts, 6reb, 5astMike Rosario, SG Florida- 15pts, 2reb, 4/6 3ptBrad Beal, SG Florida- 12pts, 10reb, 2ast, 2stlKyle Fogg, SG Arizona- 13pts, 6ast, 2stl, 3/9fgSolomon Hill, SF Arizona- 15pts, 7reb, 3ast, 4/7fgJesse Perry, PF Arizona- 11pts, 10reb, 4/10fgNurideen Lindsey, SG St Johns- 18pts, 5reb, 7to’sMoe Harkless, PF St Johns- 13pts, 9reb, 2blkAlex Oriakhi, C Uconn- 16pts, 8reb, 7/11fgAndre Drummond, C Uconn- 11pts, 14reb, 3blk, 1/8ft, 11orebJeremy Lamb, SG Uconn- 16pts, 3reb, 4ast, 3stlTyler Olander, PF Uconn- 11pts, 11reb, 4/6fgDeAndre Daniels, SF Uconn- 15pts, 7reb, 2stlKevin Jones, PF West Virginia- 29pts, 13reb, 10oreb, 13/21fgTruck Bryant, PG West Virginia- 18pts, 4ast, 5/10fgJuan Fernandez, PG Temple- 14pts, 6ast, 3to’sRamone Moore, SG Temple- 15pts, 5ast, 4reb, 0to’sMike Eric, C Temple- 12pts, 15reb, 3blkMicheal Glover, PF Iona- 13pts, 12reb, 2/7fgScott Machado, PG Iona- 14pts, 11ast, 5rebMomo Jones, SG Iona- 17pts, 5reb, 5ast, 3to’sGarrett Stutz, C Wichita St- 14pts, 11reb, 1blkBen Smith, F Wichita St- 17pts, 6rebJaMychal Green, PF Alabama- 7pts, 4reb, 12min, 4flsTony Mitchell, SF Alabama- 17pts, 11reb, 2ast, 2blk, 7/12fgHerb Pope, PF Seton Hall- 20pts, 13reb, 8/17fgFuquan Edwin, SF Seton Hall- 18pts, 9reb, 3stl, 4/5 3ptJordan Theodore, PG Seton Hall- 20pts, 4ast, 5to’s, 12/12ftDee Bost, PG Miss St- 20pts, 4reb, 3ast, 4stlRenardo Sidney, PF/C Miss St- 3pts, 6reb, 0/9fgArsalan Kazemi, PF Rice- 10pts, 13reb, 5astTamir Jackson, PG Rice- 29pts, 4ast, 3stlMarcus Denmon, SG Missouri- 22pts, 7reb, 2ast, 2stlKim English, SG Missouri- 14pts, 7reb, 3ast, 2stlRobbie Hummel, SF Purdue- 24pts, 9reb, 10/21fg, game winning 3Johnny O’Bryant, PF LSU- 21pts, 8reb, 6/8fgJohn Shurna, SF Northwestern- 37pts, 7reb, 4ast, 10/21fgTrevor Mbakwe, PF Minnesota- 20pts, 10reb, 2stl, 16/18ftMfon Udofia, PG Georgia Tech- 20pts, 5reb, 3to’sCarl Jones, G St Joes- 21pts, 3reb, 3astTim Hardaway Jr, SG Michigan- 16pts, 4reb, 4astDJ Richardson, SF Illinois- 17pts, 2reb, 2stlMike Moser, PF UNLV- 19pts, 9reb, 5ast, 3stl, 2blkBrock Motum, PF Wazzu- 23pts, 8reb, 5to’sOlek Czyz, PF Nevada- 17pts, 5reb, 5to’s, 7/9fg11/18Game I watched: Alabama 70 at* Wichita St 60This game was back and forth until early in the second half Alabama switched to a ¾ court 2-2-1 press that helped them gain momentum and the win. The press forced many Wichita St turnovers and helped the Tide extend their lead to 10. Alabama is lead with a three headed attack that consists of JaMychal Green, Trevor Releford, and Tony Mitchell. Green struggled to hit his mid range jump shot early, but started to get going when he started to post up and get to the rim. Releford got to the rim with ease and led the team with solid point guard play. Finally, Tony Mitchell played the best of all three and as Hubert Davis said, “he has a full offensive back of tricks.” Mitchell got the Tide’s offense started early with some great dunks and finishes as well as some jump shots which is a new piece to his game. His ability to hit both the mid range and three point shots this year will make him one of the nation’s best players and prospects. I had liked Mitchell’s game ever since I saw him play last year and I think he could be a top 20 pick or maybe even a lottery selection in the 2012 draft. He is that talented.Wichita St also looks like a team that could be playing NCAA tourney basketball. They like to play in the halfcourt and use their talented shooters and post players to score. Center Garrett Stutz is their best post player and had a great game against Colorado, but got in serious foul trouble versus Bama. The Shockers used their terrific shooters, Joe Ragland and Ben Smith, to stay in the game. Both hit big shots and will be relied upon to score this year.Purdue 85 at* Temple 77Tulsa 65 at* Northwestern 69Drake 59 at* Ole Miss 63St Johns 58 at* Texas A&M 59TCU 57 at* Virginia 55Seton Hall 78 at* St Joes 70Maryland 78 at* Colorado 71Arizona 57 at* Miss St 67Boston College 64 at* Holy Cross 86St Bonaventure 64 at Cleveland St 67Houston 87 at Arkansas 78New Mexico 76 at Arizona St 71Tony Mitchell, SF Alabama- 26pts, 8reb, 3blk, 2stlJaMychal Green, PF Alabama- 15pts, 11reb, 4blk, 2astJared Sullinger, PF Ohio St- 20pts, 11reb, 21minWilliam Buford, SG Ohio St- 11pts, 4reb, 4to’sDJO, SG Marquette- 20pts, 3reb, 3ast, 2stlVander Blue, SG Marquette- 26pts, 3ast, 7/9fgMoe Harkless, PF St Johns- 10pts, 7reb, 2stl, 2blk, 3/15fgNurideen Lindsey, SG St Johns- 12pts, 5reb, 3ast, 8/16ft, missed two ft’s with 2sec leftMason Plumlee, C Duke- 16pts, 13reb, 7/10fgAustin Rivers, SG Duke- 17pts, 4to’s, 8/13fgSeth Curry, G Duke- 17pts, 3reb, 2stl, 6/11fgDraymond Green, F Michigan St- 12pts, 11reb, 5ast, 2stlBranden Dawson, PF Michigan St- 13pts, 6/7fgAdrein Payne, C Michigan St- 10pts, 10reb, 4/5fgLewis Jackson, PG Purdue- 26pts, 3ast, 10/11ftRobbie Hummel, SF Purdue- 20pts, 6reb, 2ast, 2blkSolomon Hill, SF Arizona- 12pts, 9reb, 2astJesse Perry, PF Arizona- 11pts, 10reb, 2blk, 5/11fgAnthony Hickey, PG LSU- 17pts, 7reb, 4ast, 3stlJustin Hamilton, C LSU- 18pts, 9reb, 5/10fgMaalik Wayns, PG Nova- 21pts, 5ast, 2stlDominic Cheek, SG Nova- 21pts, 4reb, 3astMouphtaou Yarou, C Nova- 19pts, 5reb, 2stlHerb Pope, PF Seton Hall- 17pts, 10reb, 3astJordan Theodore, PG Seton Hall- 18pts, 10ast, 7rebTu Holloway, PG Xavier- 9pts, 5ast, 4reb, 3stlMark Lyons, SG Xavier- 18pts, 4rebBJ Young, SG Arkansas- 15pts, 3reb, 4to’sJulysses Nobles, PG Arkansas- 17pts, 5reb, 4stlMarcus Jordan, SG UCF- 21pts, 4astKeith Clanton, PF UCF- 20pts, 15reb, 2blkKendall Williams, PG New Mexico- 17pts, 7reb, 7ast, 2stlDrew Gordon, PF New Mexico- 13pts, 9reb, 4to’sJack Cooley, PF Notre Dame- 11pts, 17rebScott Martin, SF Notre Dame- 23pts, 5reb, 3astRamone Moore, SG Temple- 27pts, 3ast, 2stlKyle O’Quinn, C Norfolk St- 11pts, 12reb, 6blkScott Machado, PG Iona- 17pts, 15ast, 5reb, 5stlDrew Crawford, G Northwestern- 28pts, 4rebRay Turner, PF Texas A&M- 16pts, 7reb, 5flsTerrell Stoglin, PG Maryland- 32pts, 4reb, 3astAndre Roberson, SF Colorado- 21pts, 13rebArnett Moultrie, PF Miss St- 19pts, 10reb, 8/10fg, finally got offense goingTJ Mcconell, PG Duquesne- 15pts, 11ast, 10rebCarl Jones, G St Joes- 38pts, 4reb, 3ast, 3stlAndrew Nicholson, PF St Bonaventure- 19pts, 6reb, 4blkGlen Rice, SF Georgia Tech- 19pts, 8reb, 4ast, 3stlCharles Abouo, SG BYU- 19pts, 16reb, 4ast, 6/9fgOrlando Johnson, SG UCSB- 20pts, 12reb, 3astToure’ Mourray, SG Wichita St- 21pts, 5reb, 1stlTop 25 Non Power 6 teams- Memphis

ChrispyParticipant… this is up your alley. What is up with no Kiwi so far for PC? Haven’t seen him in the box scores and couldn’t find any news about an injury. An ideas?

providencefriars1ParticipantKiwi is academically ineligible because a class he took in hs is in question. PC appealed the ruling but for now he is out. Their starting PF from last year Kadeem Batts is also out for the year for plagarism so PC is down to 8 guys on scholarship. Its a shame because with so few guys Kiwi would have gotten some serious run this year and he wont next year because they return everyone and add three guards.
