Bosh to Dallas
Bosh will sign a max contract in Toronto. Toronto eager to rid themselves of their current team picture will add Turkoglu and Calderon to Bosh in a package for an All-star swing man and best PG of the past decade. Kidd and Butler never got it going for Dallas come playoffs. Cuban won't mind losing a PG now that Beaubois is stepping up. Butler's time probably was going to be short lived in Dallas anyways. Dallas can play Terry or Calderon at the point. Turkoglu compliments Terry and Marion compliments Calderon. Throw Damp's $0 contract and Toronto has a bright future without Bosh. If Butler jets and Kidd retires the Raptor's cap will have Evans and Banks coming off the books at the same time so they can be a real player in the 2011 free agency. Butler is a man without a team. If he likes Toronto you can expect him to re-sign.
PG - Kidd (8ppg, 5rpg, 9apg, 2spg)
SG - DeRozan (15ppg, 4rpg)
SF - Butler (25ppg, 7rpg, 4apg, 2spg)
PF - Bargnani (25ppg, 7rpg, 2bpg)
C - Dampier (8ppg, 8rpg)
Seems like a pretty solid lineup.
Good Idea but a couple problems
If I was Toronto, I would want Roddy Beaubois instead of Jason Kidd.
I'm not too caught up with either teams wishes for the off season but I gotta believe a damn near 40yr old point guard isn't too high on the list.
I dont think this works because the mavs trade kidd and butler two okay contracts cap wise for two horrible contracts turkoglu and calderon not to mention they are terrible defensively and when you let kidd butler and dampier go you lose about 3-5 steals a game and 1-2 blocks a game
Bosh isn't cheap, yet the Raptors realize they won't be getting equal value in return because their cards are on the table. Turkoglu and Calderon are bad contracts that the Raptors can package with Bosh for less value in return. The Mavs are getting a steal because Kidd is old and retiring after this contract and Butler has a year left on his contract. Bosh would have a 6 year max contract in Dallas, their future would be secured. Toronto however would be losing alot of security in their future. While Calderon and Turkoglu are high paid role players they would fit interestingly with Nowitzki and Bosh posing almost impossible match-ups. It would be refreshing to have Calderon and Turkoglu of Toronto's books. Butler can be the all-star Toronto needs. Toronto might have 3 all-stars if this trade happened. Dallas im telling you make it happen. Turk and Calderon have been borderline all-stars. Bosh is the hometown hero. Doooooo itttt. Im from Toronto I'll make my calls.
Kidd still has a couple years, if I've learned anything you can never count the man out. But Butler is the real reason Toronto swings this trade. He's exactly what Toronto has been lacking since Oakley left. Dampier is a nice trade asset because his contract isn't guaranteed if it gets waived by a certain date. And with all the free agents it will be worth alot in value.
Player - Value(out of 10)
Kidd - 6
Butler - 8
Dampier - 3
Turkoglu - 4
Calderon - 3
Bosh - 10
Toronto could turn Damp into something nice.
Toronto is getting hustled straight up. Bosh is bosh , calderon just had an injury riddled season , and hedo couldn't adapt to the offense but is a good player. Caron butler is the only notable name there, add beaubois and maybe
Terry, Turkoglu, Marion, Bosh and Nowitzki all in the lineup for the Mavs? Are there going to be enough shots to go around?
i think the raptors are, or should be, looking for young players and/or picks if they trade bosh.. I don't think they just want cap relief. Toronto has a problem with signing and keeping big name players, so cap relief doesnt mean much to them if they can't sign anybody good.. But if they get young players and picks they have to play for them and may fall in love with the place or the team..
Dallas could bring Turk off the bench for the first forward to come off and Terry can sub in for deshawn or jose. Starters 1st option nowitz 2nd bosh 3rd Jose Bench Terry the shots would be there if Dallas could bring some guys off the bench
