Boozer Stays in Utah

Carlos Boozer has opted in on his contract to play for the Jazz for one more season, the Tribune has learned. Boozer stands to make $12.7 million under that deal and will become a free agent next season.

A representative from Boozer's agent, Rob Pelinka, delivered notice to the Jazz a little before 3 p.m.

Boozer averaged 16.2 points a game last season and 10.4 rebounds with the Jazz last season. In the playoffs, those numbers bumped up to 20.6 points a game and 13.2 rebounds.

"We are excited that Carlos has decided to remain with the Jazz," said Utah Jazz general manager Kevin O'Connor. "We are hopeful he can continue to play at an All-Star level and will have an injury-free season."

Nah

There is just no market for Booze right now. The only team that could sign him was Detroit.

I'm glad he is back with

I'm glad he is back with Deron Williams because Booz is on my fantasy team and I want him to have a really good point guard feeding him.

Utah

I'm glad that the core of the team is coming back again. That's true that there's no market for Boozer. I was a bit nervous about Okur, Boozer & Korver leaving but on the other hand if they did not decide to opt in, I was excited about the pool of free agents that they might make a jab at. With them back, re-signing Millsap would put them into luxury tax area. But Millsap mentioned that he loves Utah and he wants to be back. Let's see.

boozer

If the jazz have no money to sign millsap. This boozer thing will hurt the Jazz in the long run. I really don't see boozer staying with the jazz family after all of the &$#%#&@! that has gone down. If the jazz dont resign millsap, and boozer leaves next season the fans in Utah will hate Boozer even more than right now!
