druneave3ParticipantWith the season quickly approaching let’s make a few bold predictions about the 2015 Rookie class. After seeing them play in the Summer League and a few pre-season games against the best ballers in the world, perhaps you now see a player in a differently light than what you previously thought before draft night. Or maybe you think your earlier assumptions about a top prosect are correct.
Bobby Portis will be better than the 12 players drafter ahead of him. – You can throw Frank Kaminsky in there as well. Dubbed as "Crazy Eyes" by a guy who knows a thing or two about hustle and intensity in Joakim Noah, Bobby Portis has a non-stop motor. Playing with "log in his shoulder, not just a chip," after his draft night fall, will only add more fuel to an already large fire burning inside this 20 year old who idols KG. As expected he has looked great on the boards so far. But another major factor other than his intensity that should equate to a long successful career is his outside shooting ability, even extending out to the three point line. Adding a little strength and thickness as he matures will help him out greatly.
Teams will be kicking themselves for passing on both Stanley Johnson and Justice Winslow. – I wouldn’t be surprised if both of these players have a Jimmy Butler type of ascenension in their careers. Most teams passed on them due to hesitations about their offensive games. However, much like Butler, these guys have the necessary drive and work ethic that will not only help them grow their offensive repertoire, but push them to become some of the top two-way players in the game.
D’Angelo Russell (and the Lakers) won’t win. – He is an incredible passer and score the ball with some flashy ball handling skills but I just don’t see his abilities equating to wins at this level. A lot of this lies on the shoulders of Julius Randle as well. I know that won’t win me any points as a lot of forum members are so high on the both of these flashy prospects. Too many risky plays and terrible defensive efforts will not help the Lakers. Good thing for them, Ben Simmons will. Quick Lakers note: Marcelo Huertas instantly became one of my favorite players!
Jordan Mickey and Joeseph Young will be the only players from the 2nd Round to make any real contributions to an NBA team. – Montrezl Harrell might have something to say about this, and it might not be that bold of a statement, but I belive these two players will have long NBA careers thanks to their unique abilities. Young has the ability to fill it up in a hurry. Mickey’s size/athleticism allows him to block shots down low and quard smaller, quicker players out on the perimeter. I wonder what percentage of 2nd round players play for more than five years in the league?
Your turn…

OhCanada-ParticipantI wouldn’t go as far as to sell all the 2nd rounders short. I have high expectations for Guillermo Hernangomez. He should flourish in the triangle when he comes over and should be a great piece for the present and future for the Knicks. Harrell is a hard worker and could carve out a role as an energy guy. Powell looks like a solid rotation piece and could replace Ross in the near future.

Andrew1984ParticipantMyles Turner will make it apparent that he should’ve been a top-five pick.
D’Angelo Russell will justify his draft position.
Terry Rozier will be a superior player (long-term) to Marcus Smart.
Justise Winslow and <Trey Lyles will both spend significant time in the D-League.
Kristaps Porzingis will impress when on the court, but injuries will limit his impact (guys that tall never seem to have knees and feet that work).

khaled_a_dParticipant#Justin Anderson will be in Rookie 2nd team
#Porzingis will very good player in the long term ,though not franchise player
#Hezonja will end up being the best scorer from the class
#Mudiay will look good early on ,but not gonna be the “steal” of the draft, many of players drafted ahead of him will end up better .with a couple of players drafted after too
#This class will prove to be actually a good one ,despite not being crazy hyped it will be better than 2014 which was one of the most hyped early on in recent years
#Salah Mejri will be the best Pseudo rookie .i.e experienced international player who has just joined the NBA0- Posted on: Wed, 10/21/2015 - 4:27am #1019415
barbabodomParticipantThe best pseudo-rookie (I liked this term) will be Marcelo Huertas. I agree with the rest.
