The Bobcats land James Southerland
It's a training camp contract, but what do you guys think. If I remember right Southerland was projected to be a second-round draft pick and was one of the better players who didn't get drafted. He was also a part of the Miami Heat SL team, has anyone impressions on him from the SL ?
No chance of making the Charlotte team, but maybe he can impress someone else. Syracuse players are way over hyped. Boeheim plays a cupcake schedule to get wins and his players look good. Outside of his system, they are exposed. Look at Flynn, Harris, Joseph, Fab Melo, Greene, etc.
All he can do is shoot and I hate when that's the only thing someone 6'8 can do. I hate his game
Can imagine how much you hate Ryan Kelly more.
This is how bad the Bobcats are, they acquire a fringe professional and the headline is "Bobcats LAND James Southerland". As if they're lucky to have him.
English is not my birth language, so I admit I don't know what's the difference between those two. I wrote "land" because I didn't want to copy the original article's "tab". So.. my bad.
He's a borderline nba player that should go overseas and try working on expanding his game....
But last season he was 1 of the premier shooters in the nation...Maybe the Bobcats have a need for more outside shooting and wants to give him a look..He's a specialist and if you show the coaches that u have a positive attitude,a good work ethic and excel when you are called upon...You might find a place in the league,if you can get to the right team...Guys like Gary Neal,Reggie Evans and Danny Green has survived by being specialists...
He's a guy that can't handle the ball at all, likely can't defend inside or on the perimeter, and he's very streaky shooting the ball. Forces a lot of contested 3's too. But his shot has superb form. As a Cuse fan, I'll be surprised if he ever gets NBA minutes honestly. I wouldn't even put him on Kris Joseph's level as an NBA player.
