Mr. HookShotParticipantWhy do the Spurs always find players like him? Or do the Spurs just add random players and let Pop do his magic?

lakreParticipantMan, that comment kind of disrespects Euro basketball.
Boban Marjanovic is not a random player at all. Last year he had averages of 16’6 points 10’7 rebounds per game in the Euroleague, being the most valued player.
The thing is that the Spurs staff know and study European basketball (players, defense, strategies…) and take advantage of it.

ExumInfernoParticipant8 of 10 shooting, 2 steals, great numbers off the bench but not against a very good team.
In his previous NBA games he only had 18 points. So not just a career-high game, but he really got a career-total in that one game.

MatosParticipantThis was a combination of the Sixers being terrible and Pop being GOAT. Seriously, Pop sits players out regularly and at the very least still competes against even top level teams.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantAron Baynes had a 15 point, 9 rebound game and a 12 point, 9 rebound game against Philadelphia last year. Matt Bonner had games of 12 and 18 points in those same games. Good for Boban and all, but someone has to do it. San Antonio just Sixered the game with Philadelphia again.

brodiejayParticipantI’m just impressed that someone so lumbering and ungainly can be that effective. Boban has the lateral foot speed and explosiveness of a potato… but somehow managed to have a very strong career in Europe.
I guess he has a soft touch around the rim, but I don’t know if I’ve seen anyone in the NBA look more uncoordinated when moving around the lane. Check out the "weaknesses" section of his draft profile at a rival website. He moves like his entire skeleton is made of lead!
Anyway… Despite how it may sound, I’m not trying to diss the guy. I guess I’m trying to say good on him for making the most of what he’s got in terms of physical gifts! I’m intrigued to see more of him.
