Bob BallParticipantIf I was Darrly Morey i’d go after Eric Bledsoe. Yes i know he’s only a restricted FA but Houston missed on Lebron, Melo and even Bosh. So missing on Bledseo wouldent be the worst thing that happened this summer. If reports are true that PHx and Bledsoe’s camp are far apart Rockets should think of making the strongest offer they can to him. Adding Bledsoe would push Beverly into a sixth man role but it would also mean that houston would two pitbulls that would never give opposing PGs a break. Moving Beverly to the bench would also add some depth after giving Jeremy Lin away. Im not saying HOU wins the chip with Bledsoe but i feel a team is moving in the right direction with him as its third best player.

FearTheStacheParticipantThis would be great if they had cap space. But they don’t.

nick5354ParticipantI am pretty sure they have the cap space.
They have $54, 866,800 mil in guaranteed contracts for the 2014-15 season. Gee is getting 3 mil, so they could dump Gee which would give them about $51 mil in payroll, meaning they have some room to spend on another free agent like Bledsoe.
Question is whether other teams will pay more then 12 mil for him. I suspect they will.

christebasParticipantHouston definately neeeds a PG upgrade but I’m not sure Bledsoe’s their guy even if they did a sign and trade or were able to make him a straight up offer. Harden is so ball dominant, I’m not sure he could co-exist in the backcourt with a ball dominant pg like Bledsoe. While he certainly would be an upgrade to the Rockets, they might do better with a different style of PG. As for the cap-space, after losing Parsons they had it but then added Ariza at 8.5 per year to start pushing their number to around 55mil as nick said. They really don’t have the flexablilty to offer bledsoe anything close to a max deal (which I think is crazy anyway), but it would be difficult for them to even offer him the 12 mil per the Suns did.

drpg913ParticipantI understand why people ting he’s asking for too much but I also understand why he’s asking for so much. He just seen Gordon Hayward get a huge offer from Charlotte and watched it get matched by Utah, John Wall and Boogie Cousins both got max contracts and I’m sure he thinks he’s better than Wall and might have been able to prove it if he weren’t playing behind CP3 for those years he was in LA.
When he finally got his chance to start he proved that he was productive offensive player and he’s a straight menace on defense with the ability to guard every opposing point guard night in and night out and most 2 guards. There aren’t too many point guards that can do that if any.

FearTheStacheParticipantBledsoe? Ball dominant? Then what PG’s do you deem not ball dominant?

MettaWorldDurant1ParticipantBledsoe to the Rockets would actullay improve their offensive and defensive situation IMO. Hes an upgrade to Beverley and could also co-exist with him in a double-PG rotation. Alot of defensive capabilities
