Jr. ROXASParticipantLILLARD WINS THE GAME FOR THE BLAZERS! Damn, incredible game.

Jr. ROXASParticipantMan, Dwight Howard pretty much dominated that 4th quarter for the Rockets. I kinda feel bad for the guy though, getting wiped in the first round again after sky high expectations when he joined the team. Still, the Blazers deserve this! Such great chemistry in that team.

imAboutDatActionParticipantDwight played his heart out this series.
nobody should blame him for this.
Mchale , Harden’s inability to play defense , Terrence Jones not being able to play defense, Linn playing with a low IQ, and Chandler’s dissappearing acts in the 2nd half deserve the blame.
Mchale needs to go.

Jr. ROXASParticipantNo doubt. Dwight was also swishing his free throws down the stretch in this game and in this entire series! 64% not including this game. Now that’s a star, stepping up his game in the games matter the most.

SFGiantsParticipantWhy does McHale need to go? He was at least able to contain LA after he went off on them the first two games. Every single game was competitive and could have gone either way despite the disappearing acts of certain players combined with great play by the opposition.
if anything, McHale deserves credit.

machu46ParticipantHe should be fired just based off of the fact that he’s okay with Harden literally doing nothing on defense.
I can’t believe none of his teammates have blown up on him for that. I’ve never seen a player give so little effort. He encompasses all of the bad stereotypes about the NBA.
But regarding McHale, he also doesn’t run any offenses and his team has two of the best defenders in the league and yet they still suck defensively.

For_Never_EverParticipantTerrance Jones isn’t a bad player. He is just too small to handle Aldrige and Lopez.

imAboutDatActionParticipantnever in my post i said he was bad. just couldnt play defense this series.
size or not, he was soo bad he got benched. even his attempt at guarding the inbound pass was horrible.

For_Never_EverParticipantThe player that really needs to be criticized is James Harden. I’m tired of hearing the argument he has to save his energy on defense so he can play offense. MJ, Kobe and Wade were all lethal offensive players, but were great defenders as well.

cozmojimParticipantI still don’t understand how Mchale got the job, he was pretty underwhelming in minny. Also I just don’t think the team was very well constructed. It’s easy to criticize players after the fact, but this was a case of a more talented squad getting beat by a better "team".

omphalosParticipantIt was a nice shot by Lillard, but that was some TERRIBLE defensive awareness by the Rockets. With .9 seconds left you shouldn’t worry about defending the inbounder because there isn’t enough time to get it back to him, better to be aware of the movement of other players so a guy like Lillard can’t just sprint around the arc and be wide open for a shot. I mean damn, everyone in the building knew Lillard was taking that shot, zero communication by the Rockets.
Also it’s not McHale’s fault that Harden is an atrocious and disinterested defender. The Beard has been underwhelming in the playoffs for the last three seasons, including a disappearing act in the Finals for OKC.
Harden needs to come into training camp in better shape so he can play both sides of the ball with at least comparable effort.
I just moved to a new place ao I can’t watch any games because I have no Wi-Fi, just my luck that the first round turns out to be this ridiculously good show we’ve seen so far.

tblazer_NZParticipantApparently Damian was the second option on the play designed by stotts with LA being the first option.
The fact Damian was so open was the reason why they went to him.
In the huddle, Portland coach Terry Stotts diagrammed a play that would bring Lillard toward inbound passer Nicolas Batum after a screen from Wesley Matthews. Lillard was one of two options on the play — actually, the second option after forward LaMarcus Aldridge.
“The play was for LaMarcus,” said Batum, “but [Lillard] was so wide open, we had to break the play.”
“To be honest, I didn’t think Dame would come that open,” said Stotts. “[Aldridge] was probably the first look, but Dame came wide open.”

CavFanPRParticipantNobody can play defense on Aldridge. He’s unstoppable. Harden gets exposed once again. I don’t see any superstar in him.

HitsterParticipantAldridge was huge in this series and if D12 and Asik struggled to stop him then most other teams will too.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI’m going to give Matthews (Batum at times) credit for playing great defense, but Harden was terrible. He’s the most to blame for the Rockets losing this series because he didn’t show up at either end.
I definitely think McHale deserves some major blame too for not making adjustments defending Aldridge quick enough. The dude almost averaged 50 the first two games before McHale finally decided to do something about it by starting Asik and making some defensive adjustments. I kept wondering how come Howard didn’t defend him more often.
But give the Blazers all the credit. They were the better team.
