SupParticipant47 and 14. I am not surprised as I stated in pre season…people may not admit it but Blake Griffen as a rookie belongs somewhere in the convo and it’s not even all star break.

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantMVPs don’t play for losing teams. He might be a MVP in the future but the team gotta make the playoffs first.

llperezonly 2 times has the MVP been given to someone on a losing team. Bob petit in ’56 and kareem in ’76

immaletufinishbutParticipantHe should be in the conversation but because he is on a losing team and a rookie, he will get NO consideration. I know I will get docked points, but I think he should definitely be all nba 3rd team but because he is a rookie and on a losing team, he probably will not make it.

BigDParticipantI don’t think he’s above players like Rose, Stoudemire, Wade, James, Bryant, Nowitzki, Durant, Rondo or Ginobili. He will almost certainly be in the convosation if the Clippers can get near the .500 mark. But at this stage he shouldn’t be in the conversation.

jjonzParticipantLet’s wait until he’s done this for 2-3 years. In comparison is he Shawn Kemp JR, STAT? I mean PF’s with skill sets do more damage long term (KG, McHale, Malone, Duncan, Gasol). Has a great work ethic could be a SuperStar. Must develop a consistent move, until then he is a great PF.

IndianaBasketballParticipantHe’s playing just as well as anybody else in the league.
IF Davis comes into training camp in shape and Kaman doesn’t get injured… Maybe the Clippers don’t start 1-13 and Griffin is at least in the conversation. He was carrying a team with two other rookies in the starting lineup, a young enexperienced center who barely played last season and an underperforming bench. Not much you can do with that.

omar dayzeParticipantare we still debating that Blake Griffin doesnt have any reliable moves? He can beast a whole game just by going at it harder than the opposing PFs but it doesnt mean he lacks moves. If you saw his 47 last night you’l know this. Crossovers and countermoves!?
The new CBA is going to need to give PF’s if they want enough cannon fodder for the GRIFF! Give me ten mill a year at least if you want me to embarrass myself nationally every time the Clippers come to town lol.

jjonzParticipantBut let’s wait until 2nd half of the season & see what happens. Is there really a rookie wall? Will he hit or break through it? MVP is a serious word in the L. Exciting & AllStar are the words to use for Griff. However, does he have slow it down/half court grind-it-out playoff moves. They could make the playoffs & then we’ll see.

LAKE SHOWIf he is in the conversation then there are many others who should be Love, Zach Randolph,Ellis etc

LAKE SHOWAnd no i dont think He’s a MVP this year. IMO a MVP is someone who leads there team to the playoffs and not as just a 6th 7th 8th seed. MVP’s lead there teams too many wins
