So as we know Biyambo is do for a bit of a raise. His defensive presence has won the Raptors about 4-5 games this postseason and they would not be where they are without him. So I’ve got a few questions.

Where is the best fit for Biyambo? Lakers, Celtics, Rockets, Mavs?

Has he reached his potential or your expectations, how much upside has he got left?

Now this is a long shot but here goes my one prayer. If he opts in to the contract could he not immediately sign an extension worth whatever the market is offering therefore forgoing cashing in one year early in order to stay with Toronto. Its a lot to ask from him and is very unlikely but for anyone who understands the CBA how would that work out and is it even possible?

he reached his potential. An extremely hard worker whos athletic and strong and specializes in rebounding, blocks, dunks and hustle

Hes an awesome role player but the guy cant shoot and can barely even dribble. Hes gonna get a contract he cant possibly earn

No way he has reached his full potebtial. He is only 23! He can def improve offensively if he works at it. I actually think he can become a better defender as well

It can’t possibly be worse than Tristan Thompson’s

I think a good fit would be the Blazers, they are young team that needs interior defense and they wouldn’t even need him to score.

I like his energy, rebounding, rim protection, and he seems like a great teammate who does not mind doing the dirty work.  Winning teams need guys like him so I would love to see him on the Lakers doing what he does best.  My guess is he’s in for a raise in the $13-$15M range in this new salary era.

He was an elite rebounder, shot blocker(per 48 mins) screener in his last 3 seasons.

Now he’s improving as a basketball player, better at the FT line and he’s officially 23.

It’s all about playing time, he’s a poor man’s big ben, ahead of him at the same age.

I could see him as a 50 MD man for the lakers, lone defender of the squad(lol) giving them 8 pts 12 rebs 2,5 blocks as a 30 mins starter.

Dude been doing this since his Charlotte days, it’s crazy how it takes doing it on the big stage(playoffs)  shows people who weren’t aware of a player’s capabilities what their capable of.

I think he will get a big pay day, whether it’s with the raptors or elsewhere. It’s crazy that in today’s game someone can get paid really well just from rebounding, defense,&finishing. Still, considering bigs who can do more than that are dime a dozen, it’s like you gotta pay someone, and if not you someone else will.

Either way I’m happy he is fine alky getting recognition for being one of the best hustle/utility guys.

I think Boston would be an ideal destination. Would be a good fit next to Olynyk.

I believe he can opt in and sign an extension to kick in from 2017 if he so wished. Z-Bo did that at Memphis a year or two back. Toronto got Biyombo on a great deal for this season and with his recent performances and the cap rise, he is due a good payday somewhere.

With DeRozan due a new contract and Lowry having a player option next summer, the Raptors would have to be fairly creative to try and retain Biyombo and stay under luxury tax level. Once we know the exact cap amount then we can try to work out what they have to play with.

People forget he is playing against Tristan Thompson and Kevin love. Not legit NBA centers.

He is getting a few more rebounds, similar blocks to the rest of his career, better free throw shooting, he is going to be paid a lot more due to doing this in the playoffs.

He isn’t staying in Toronto for $3million.

Raptors can’t afford him, just guessing, unless DeRozan goes.  With Jonas V there already, that would be a lot of money for two centers.

Lakers do need defense in the paint, and have all the money to spend.

Charlotte could have a need and lots of money, it would be a strange move to go back.

Atlanta might need him if Horford goes.

A team overpaying could be annoyed by the lack of offense, if he goes for the big money it could be a bad fit.  Maybe Dallas, Dirk next to a defender who doesn’t need the ball on offense does work.

Never thought of the Lakers, but if they get Ingram I think he would be awesome next to a skilled big like Randle as well as the shooting of Russell and Ingram, potentially Clarkson if he returns but I still think he could get a big offer elsewhere and the Lakers won’t suffer because of Ingram.

Warriors. They need a young big that is simply trying to defend and rebound.

With a lot of hype about Whiteside during FA, Biyombo could be a cheaper alternative, he won’t score so much but he could do a great job on defence. When I see guys like Robin Lopez and Asik on $12-$14 million a year then that surely puts Biyombo’s market value much closer to that than the $3 million player option he has.

Stupid money will be out there, and awful contracts will be the way of the summer, but this amazes me because we haven’t even reached the first anniversary of the deification of Timofey Mozgov.

Im not sure what exact team he best fits but I read some of your post and thought what if Byimbo & DeRozan went to LA during free agency and they ended up with Ingram in the draft, Clarkson resigned they would look nice on paper especially with Walton at the helm & Shaw as his right hand man.

    Russell

    DeRozan

    Ingram

    Randle

    Byimbo

    Clarkson

    Williams

    Nance Jr.

Byimbo is what the Lakers would be missing especially at 23 he’ll grow with the team he’s a rebounding, shot blocker this possibility would put them in a good spot
