prophetmeirParticipantSo far in preason hes looked pretty solid. Had 20 boards last night and 15 boards a couple of games ago. He also alters tons of shots and is pretty much in every play in the paint. Although hes been avg close to 35 min a game in preseason, I hope he can continue to build. My question is what type of contract and potential is seen in bismack?

sheltwon3ParticipantEverybody are point out Bismack faults but I think he could be Ben Wallace 2.0.

terrancebowerParticipantIt’s hard to count out a guy with so much heart. I think he might actually get overpaid a bit for his next contract based on per 36 minute stats, specifically BPG and RPG in limited minutes. It’s not that I don’t think he’s a valuable player, in fact he’s one of the players I love watching and rooting for, but big men who block shots have super high earning potential and it’s sometimes a bit outrageous.

HitsterParticipantAs regards a potential extension as early as next summer, a lot will depend on how Kemba, MKG and even Cody Zeller do this year as with a lot of guys on rookie deals, the Bobcats will want to leave room to extend them all and what happens resultswise this season and who they might draft next summer may also come into it.
Also when Al Jefferson is fit, it will be interesting to see how they play Biyombo, McRoberts and Zeller around him. Personally I’d start Biyombo alongside Jefferson and use Zeller as a scoring option from the bench.
If Biyombo has a solid season this year, I could see the Bobcats offering him something in $8 million per season range as another good year in 2014-15 could mean another team would offer him a big deal in 2015 which Charlotte would have to match or let him walk.

SiggyParticipantWhen Al Jeff’s healthy I’d start McRoberts next to him while bringing Zeller along slowly. I think Biyombo would get in Al Jeff’s way offensively, which isn’t good for a team’s #1 option. McRoberts has played well as a Bobcat and was their most impressive big in the preseason. He can hold the fort down at PF until Zeller is ready, which could be as early as later this yr. Cody showed flashes, but he needs to get his jumper down in order to be effective offensively.

theballerwayParticipantI hear what your saying about Bismack being in Jeffersons way offensively but defensively he covers many of Jeffersons holes. Its good that they finally have some servicable options eitherway.

JoeWolf1I was never as hard on Bismack as a lot of posters. The guy just became a legal drinker about two months ago and already has proven he can block shots and rebound at an NBA level. Yes, he’s not quite a good defender yet, and still needs to really fully grasp a few elements of the NBA game, but he’s a good help side shot blocker and a guy who makes you think twice about going to the rim.
I think this season he’ll back up Al and play some minutes at PF and although I don’t see his minutes going up, I think he’ll make some improvements. For a young raw player he’s not a hack machine, which is a plus, and I’m not going to crown him Ben Wallace 2.0 or even Dale Davis 2.0, I think he’ll put it together.
