I’m starting to really wonder if he is a good coach. He is definately a great recruiter, but since his back to back titles with a very gifted squad, there hasn’t been a coach in the Nation who has done less with more than Donovan. This year they are struggling to stay ranked with one of the 5 most talented teams in the country, and doesnt look poised to make any sort of tourney run.

Kenny Boynton is a baller, Erving Walker is ok. Guardplay is really their problem. But their Bigs should be DOMINANT. Chandler Parsons at the 3, Alex Tyus at the 4, Vernon Macklin at the 5, and Eric Murphy and Patric Young off the bench. How are they so beatable right now?

Other than the 2 titles, they have always looked like an underachieving poorly coached team. I know 2 titles is nothing to sneer at but how long does that make you a good coach for if you underachieve after it?

We had a football coach, Larry Coker, that won a title and almost won a second if we didnt get a horrile OT call that would have been a game ender. He would have been unbeaten 2 years in a row. He turned out to be a terrible coach, and couldn’t keep it together. I wonder if the same can be said for Donovan. I thought they were a final four team this year and major title contender.

they have mike rosario coming in next year and there guard play really isnt that bad. I almost feel like chandler parsons hasnt been himself this year. From the games ive watched he seems to be missing something.Also tyus lost his blocking ability when he lost his hair. I do agree they are playing under what was expected but final 4? come on man you had too high of expectations right away.this team is nowhere near as gifted as his 2 championship teams

Word, if Rosario could run the point, I think they are alright. Walker is not a good point guard, he’s a small shooting guard who hurts Boynton because at this point, he’s a shooter.

I think the FLA bigs will be better next season, remember, the Noah-Horford combo needed a year to grow. Young and Murphy should be better next season I feel. Also, they add Bradley Beal, who reminds everyone of Eric Gordon

Either way you look at it, he’s still got two rings-which is 2 more than some great coaches will ever have. Calhoun is also an overrated coach, but he’s a great recruiter.
