Which team do you think most likely will make a major draft day move/trade? I’m thinking Minnesota, possibly moving the #2 pick somewhere or packaging it in some player(s) swap. What do you think?

I expect this draft day to be the busiest ever with trades..it seems nobody drafting in the top 10 are impressed with the prospects and about where they are drafting..Even Cleveland at number 1 havent made it clear who they’re drafting and have been shopping the 4th pick……

I wouldn’t be surprised if Minnesota, Toronto, Cleveland, Charlotte, Chicago or Washington made moves with their picks.  I feel if you’e got two first rounders in this years’ draft, unless you’re in love with a prospect, you’re open to shopping picks to teams that like those players.  I feel Houston could also try to move up to try to get a big man.

would not be suprised if The Jazz and Wizards, work out something for the #3,

I think the Jazz would love to move back to about the 6th, were the could still get Knight, or Vessely

I’m starting to think your right. When you look at Utah, you got Devin Harris at point, AK47(if they re-sign him) and Hayward at the 3, and Millsap/Favors/Jefferson/Okur at the power position. They need a shooting gaurd, and I see Knight as more of a point than a 2. On the other hand, Enes Kanter has been talking about his interest in playing in DC(and Wall has expressed interest in playing with him as well). Possibly a swap so the Wizards could get Kanter at #3 and the Jazz could maybe get, say, Jan Vesely or Kawhi Leonard(a replacement for Kirilenko?) at #6, a shooting gaurd like Alec Burks/Klay Thompson at #12, and perhaps a prospect for the future(insert choice here) at #18. Makes pretty good sense to me.

here’s the problem with that Utah and Washington trade: Brandon Knight is likely to not slip past 5. Jazz could really use him with their pick. Look at it this way, If the trade does go down: Plan A: Cleveland takes Williams with thier first pick which means they would likely take Knight with the fourth pick. Plan B: Cleveland takes Irving with their first pick. Assuming that Washington would take Kanter with the 3rd, that would leave Cleveland to take Leonard or Vesely with the 4th pick. Raptors would then likely take Knight, unless they absolutery enamored with either Leonard or Vesely which isn’t likely.

Bottom line there is a small chance that Knight will still be available at 6. And day by day that chance is getting smaller and smaller. Utah really got quite a deal by landing the 3rd pick, they simply can’t pass that up. I’m sorry but picking Vesely just to replace AK would definitely be passing that up. The Jazz can simply replace AK with their 12th pick by picking Singleton or Harris. I like having the 6th, 12, and 18th picks but I really don’t want the Jazz to miss out on Knight, and it looks very possible that Knight will not be around with the 6th pick.

I think Minnesota will start off the trading with the 2nd pick. Cleveland could also deal as well as Houston, and probably some teams that have 2 picks in the first round.

It may be a long shot but could any of the top 2012 FA perhaps be in play if teams near the top of the draft started offering picks up. A team could risk losing a guy for nothing next summer and suddenly they could possibly get a young piece to start rebuilding around right away.

The problem might be that this year’s draft isn’t that strong and the team might struggle next year so they have to weigh up whether to have another play off run next year and hope the franchise player resigns or risk blowing it up a year early get one building block in and even if they are lottery next year then they get a possible high pick in a loaded draft so they have two pieces in place come 2012-13 season rather than say being like Cleveland was minus LeBron last summer at that stage.

The risk for any acquiring team might be that the 2012 FA could look elsewhere next summer so they are essentially doing what the Nets did with Deron Williams a few months back.

Personally I admit it is a long shot but with Cleveland having that exception running out and the top pick might Dan Gilbert just think he could get his team relevant again sooner especially given the LeBron feud and issues.
