    Baylor:

Perry Jones- A big-time talent with the scoring potential to be a league-leader in the NBA someday if he puts his mind to it. Problem is, he’s not always dialed in or focused. Still, his talent, physical ability, and athleticism is so aboundant offensively, he will get his numbers. He reminds me of Rudy Gay more so than Kevin Durant.

LaceDarius Dunn- My favorite prospect on their team. Has the ugliest looking jumper in the country, but it’s DEADLY. His range is great, and he’s got the ability to pull-up from mid-range. Still, a little selfish and probably mediocre to below average athletically. The zone D Baylor runs makes his D tough to gauge. Reminds of Reggie Williams of the Golden State Warriors.

Anthony Jones- I’m expecting a break out. Has every skill and physical tool Perry Jones has. A 6’10 205 SG/SF, can shoot the deep ball, handle the ball, and he’s not as aggressive as he should be. Some more pounds wouldn’t hurt, but he’s a big-time scoring talent. Give him time, and don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Quincey Acy- Athletic freak with a strong build and plenty of toughness. He’s not talented offensively, but he will rebound and dunk the ball on you if you fall asleep.

    Colorado:

Cory Higgins- People say Alec Burks is the best player on their team, but they are SOOOO wrong. Higgins is. He has a decent jump shot from the SG/SF spot, especially from mid-range, and can finish well around the rim. He’s a rather mediocre athlete and defender though.

Alec Burks- Athletic, a late-bloomer, and has nice size for a SG. Still, a very overrated prospect. Not a shot-creator, and scored mostly in transition or from loose balls. Shooting is a work in progress. Has defensive potential, but right now he’s pretty weak which limits him. He’s a 2012 or even 2013 prospect to me.

    Iowa State:

Diante Garrett- Interesting prospect. Quick, tall for a PG (6’4), and has nice athleticism and slashing and passing ability. Good handles. Great pick and roll player. Still, his shooting and lack of strength limit him some. He reminds me of a poor mans Shaun Livingston honestly.

    Kansas:

Marcus Morris- Made nice strides last year. Has the ability to face-up and make shots, and play some with his back to the basket. Good athlete with nice quickness down low. Needs polish to his game, but he’s a good prospect.

Josh Selby- Athletic, aggressive, strong, and did I say aggressive? Alot like Steve Francis IMO, and has a flair for the spectacular. Also a good on-ball defender. Ranked as the top HS player in the country by some people. Should slide into Sherron Collins’ role.

Tyshawn Taylor- Intense defender, good athlete with supreme quickness, and nice size. He’s a PG, but his floor vision and ball-handling are only decent. OK shot, but is very good when left open. Similar to Jrue Holiday IMO

    Kansas State aahhhhhh (lol):

Jacob Pullen- Sharp-shooter who is at his best coming off of screens and making jump shots. Dellivers down the stretch. Plays intense on-ball defense. He’s not more than a 2nd round NBA prospect though, because he’s a 6’0 combo guard who lacks a bit of quickness and athleticism.

Curtis Kelly- The long-armed and athletic 6’9 PF UConn transfer stepped up big last year. OK low game, can make mid-range shots, and is a great shot-blocker. He needs to improve his basketball IQ, and his rebounding skills.

Jamar Samuels- One of the biggest matchup problems in the Big 12 last year. Can face up and post up at 6’8 215. Can use quickness against big PF’s. Not a good defender though and is a poor ball-handler though. 2013 prospect.

Wally Judge- Right now he’s just a physically gifted athletic freak with raw skills. Rebounds and blocks shots, but he was super foul prone and lacks awareness. Offensive game is raw outside of an inconsistent mid-range shot and dunks at the rim. Give him another year. Tyrus Thomas clone.

    Mizzou:

Kim English- Mid-range skills are outstanding, and he has a nice 3-ball too. Pull-up jumper is a thing of beauty. Decent athlete and physical presence on the wing. Needs to improve his defense and shot-selection a bit. Reminds me of a smarter Nick Young. I GUARANTEE he’ll be a 1st rounder next year.

Lawrence Bowers- Athletic monster who finishes explosively at the rim. A combo forward at 6’8 210, he’s not a scorer really and plays a Renaldo Balkman/DeMarre Carrol type. Rebounds and plays good D, especially off the ball for steals and blocks. 2012 prospect.

Ricardo Ratcliffe- A mismatch. Can play both SF and PF COMFORTALBY at 6’8 240. Strong rebounder and plays with the energy needed for their press. Good shooter.

    Texas:

Corey Joseph- He’s a pure PG with good basic drive and dish passing ability, good quickness and the strong jump shooting ability. He lacks some athleticism, but he’s very similar to the last good PG Texas had, D.J. Augustin.

Jordan Hamilton- The definition of a selfish scorer. Good jump shot, nice athleticism, and good physical ability. Still, his shot selection, ball-handing and defense are all very shaky. Needs to get smarter.

Tristan Thompson- Not polished, but he has great athleticism, defensive ability, physical gifts, potential, and is a good slasher despite having subpar handles. Not much of a shooter.

Jamar Samuels didn’t transfer. That was Dominique Sutton

Ratcliffe is bigger than Johnson is and not as athletic. He reminds me of a younger Tim Thomas honestly.

Also, I haven’t seen Tony Mitchell play yet. I do know he committed to Kansas State and then backed out and went to Mizzou though.

Perry Jones is just about the same player Rudy Gay is, plus 2 inches of height.

I might…There may be too many conferences though. I might just do every major conference except the Pac-10, and then do the top non-major prospects lumped up together.

I think Perry Jones is like Anthony Randolph with their unlimited potential and also Corey Joseph is a very underrated point guard When he played Kyrie Irving he forced Irving into playing terrible with his aggressive defense and he is a great shooter and an outstanding defender and has good point guard skills and has an high basketball IQ

I agree 100%. He’s a super lethal shooter/scorer at the college level. He should be a Wooden Award candidate next year no doubt

Perry Jones lacks the outside game that Rudy Gay possesses, not a fair comparison IMO. And I’m sorry, but all I can think about when I look at Jacob Pullens game is Acie Law, LOL…

nice. i doubt seriously that perry ever ever ever leads the leauge in scoring. im pretty sure he wont even lead his college in scoring. he just doesnt have that fire. hasnt had it up to this point and history shows you dont just get it when you get to college. very talented kid thats for sure but if you dont have that fire you just dont have it. i dont even think he becomes rudy gay. all these people he gets compared to DOMINATED in hs and or college. even Anthony randolph was more dominate in hs. i dont think its fair for perry though because peoples expectations of him are wayy to high because of youtube clips and a couple of plays he did in aau. And many dont realize although he had some very nice plays in aau he never dominated he was just good

Yeah, I agree Stanford, the expectations for Perry Jones are ridiculous, too many highlight reels and not enough facts. He’s a very intriguing player, but the bar has been set too high IMO.

I doubt Jones leads the nation in scoring too….He lacks the mentality. He’ll be a 20 ppg scorer in his career, but he seems like a Rudy Gay type. He can score on the perimeter at least as well as Gay could at UConn. He doesn’t lack perimeter skills at all. I don’t like people saying that they’ve never seen anyone like him before though. He’s not ground-breaking like that.

Jacob Pullen is a better shooter than Acie Law was and much less of a PG in college, but there are similarities.

i dont even think he will be a 20ppg scorer. i dont blame some who think he will be this and that because all ya’ll are going by is what youve seen in clips and what ya’ll think he will potentially be. i really think he will disappoint many people who expect so much out of him. i havent watched many of his games but i have watched games of him (3 regular season and a couple aau games) he doesnt have the scoring instinct. its just not there. its weird because he has so many skills. IMO he will end up with a lamar odom career at best. just watching his hs games you wonder if he even loves basketball, or does he just play it because of his natural gifts and height

he also doesnt score on the primeter as ya’ll seem to think. he rarely hit threes in hs unlike gay. the kid had almost 10 games where he didnt even reach double figures, and this is without being double teammed. im guessing ya’ll didnt watch gay in hs. i remember watching him when i went back home and he played in the charlie weber tournament. J WORK. he would have ate jones up. jones can handle and has some range but he isnt as polished as rudy was back then

ya’ll= those who think perry does certain things better then gay did in hs

or ya’ll could be who ever it refers to. if i say “some of ya’ll think red is brighter then blue” the people who said it or think it knows that im talking to them. its self explainatory. People know if ya’ll refers to them or not

I know PLENTY of people in Texas that think Jones will be the next big thing from there. He lacks the mentality to be the superstar he can be, but he’s gonna be very good. The same questions people have about Jones are questions that were always brought up with Rudy Gay coming up from HS to his 1st season in the NBA. “Does he know how good he is?” “Does he actually like basketball?” “Why does he disappear so much despite being far and away better than everybody?”

jonathan bender..thats exactly who he could end up like…im not sure why i didnt think about that one

the difference between the questions about gay and jones is gay actually DOMINATED in hs. jones didnt. just like the favors howard debate. one has the fire and agressiveness while the other doesnt. jones has it worst then a guy whos not as skilled because when you havnt had that fire youre whole career up to this point it doesnt just come out of nowhere. even when cousins would go through the motions he still would do work. when jones goes through the motions he ends up with 4points( couple times this year)

Where are the stats that proved he scored 4 points “a couple of times” anyway? You keep saying it, but where you there? Do you have prove?

And I have never watched Tony Mitchell play before, so I didn’t include him. Sorry.

yeah you need to watch more of his games. a 4point game in college wouldnt suprise me at all. you are vastly overrating this kids drive. its actually pretty weird. doesnt even seem to bother him when he doesnt play well or dominate its like “oh well”. like when he was matched up aginst lebryant nash this season and got dragged up and down the court on offense and defense in that match up. im willing to put money that he will have a couple single digit scoring games and there will be post of people that wtach him play asking “whats wrong with this kid does he love basketball”

As far as toney mitchell- i like that kid. he also gave it to perry jones. enever knew about him till his team played my nephews team in vegas. my nephew gave him the business( which is why georgetown went from recruiting toney hard to recruiting my nephew harder) But yeah mitchell has bounce and already has a nba body. jumper is a lil shakey as well as his handles but he will be in the nba
