Interesting mix. I will tell you my picks and why

paul pierce- It’s close but the ring and Finals MVP puts Pierce over Dirk for me.

amare stoudemire- I’m a little bias but here’s my opinion. I believe Stoudemire will have at least 3 really good seasons in NY ( like 23-9-3-1.5 seasons) and that would have his career numbers kinda similar to Webber. I would go STAT because he got injured and Webber had alot of turmoil in his career before the injury that had hurt his career.

mitch richmond- Not even close, Richmond jumpstarted 2 franchises (with help of course in Sacramento and Golden State)

mark price- Kevin Johnson was the more respected player but looking at Price numbers and his seasons…he was better to me.

tracy mcgrady- McGrady has a scoring title. Grant will always be injury prone and a what if guy

pau gasol- Gasol. I think he will have better career numbers and the titles will make him look better

lebron james- A couple reasons why: I think he wins multiple titles in Miami, he’s gonna have amazing numbers when his career is over and: I think he become more polarizing when he retires

    1.Nowitzki..

2.Webber..After Duncan & Garnett, C-Webb was the 3rd best power foward to enter the league in the 90’s…He was a mixture of great athleticism, passing skills, power & finesse..

3.Mitch Richmond..Jordan said ”Richmond was 1 of the hardest players to guard…

4.Kevin Johnson-He had some AMAZING DUNKS for a little guy!!!!

5.McGrady-When he was healthy he was unguardable..He had folks asking who was better T-Mac or Kobe?

6.I had to Stop and think about this 1..I love Pau Gasol’s all around skills..And he’s a great teammate i hear..But i have to go with the Ultimate Warrior Alonzo Mourning…Great Post Defender even though he was undersized..

7.King James..Will finish his career as 1 of the 5 best players in league history..Lebron has the passing skills of Magic Johnson and the athleticism of Micheal Jordan…..

Paul Pierce or Dirk Nowitzki: Tied, because Pierces’ Championship is countered by Nowitzki’s MVP and the fact he’s the best shooting big-man to step on an NBA court.

Chris Webber or Amare Stoudmire: Too early to decide, we’ll have to see how well Amare goes with the NYK’s.

Mitch Richmond or Joe Johnson: No idea who Mitch Richmond is.

Mark Price or Kevin Johnson: No Idea who both of them are.

Grant Hill or Tracy McGrady: Tracy McGrady.

Pau Gasol or Alonzo Mourning: Tie.

LeBron James or Tim Duncan: Depends how well LeBron goes with the Heat.

    No more.

LeBron would be more polarizing. He would be this guy who I feels the NBA never really seen before.

Like no joke, I want him to write a book about his career because his last 4 seasons were very interesting. I want to know the real reason, written by him ( or whoever writes it using him) why he left Cleveland and such.

Man…I want to pick T-Mac, but Hill is a proven winner. T-Mac NEVER got passed the first round of the playoffs. He was a volume scorer and wasn’t that efficient. Grant Hill is a proven winner and more of an inspiration to me because he overcame several TERRIBLE injuries and now checks the opposing teams best player even at the old age that he is at.

Oh ok I see your point i just  thought you meant to say he would be less polarizing because people would eventually cool off the whole I’m taking my talent to South Beach thing and that players are always much more respected after they retire

mine, and i purposely chose ones that are all tough.

nowizki or pierce—-nowitzki. Paul was never close to winning an mvp award and dirk still is near the top of his game for another couple years while pierce is slowing down quite a bit already. Interesting they came from the same draft and went right next to each other at 9 and 10. Neither team could have gone wrong.

webber or amare—–webber, but amare still has plenty of time to take this one. But webber was just an unbelieveable passer and for a year or two a top 5 mvp candidate. AMare needs quite a few great seasons in NY to pass him which is possible since webber got hurt late in his career and the last few seasons he played he was nothing special.

richmond or johnson—–ill go mitch. He was probably the third best overall sg after jordan and clyde from the 90’s. He was just so consistent.

price or kj—-very small edge to price. Almost impossible to argue this one, but price was one of the great shooters this game has ever seen. KJ was one of the first blow you away athletes at the pg position who could go up and bang on guys.

mcgrady or hill—–i think hill will be remembered with the better career but had they both been able to stay fully healthy, i htink tmac would have the very slight edge. So i guess my answer is hill, but tmac had a little more skill and was more special.

gasol or alonzo—–as of now it is zo. But if pau can win another title or two and continues to play at an all-nba level i give him the edge. Crazy to imagine if we could combine pau’s finesse skills with zo’s defense and toughness and passion. That would be maybe the greatest big man of all time.

james or duncan—–i think we gotta go james here. But please dont forget about how dominant td was on both ends of the court in leading his teams to 4 titles. But lebron will go down in arguments as the all time best if he can win a few titles. No titles for lebron and we gotta stick with duncan here.

paul pierce or dirk nowitzki    I think Dirk will go down as the better player, but Pierce a greater legend. His ring, and playoff heroics give him the nod, although I think its almost a no brainer that Dirk is a better player than Pierce, JMO. Pierce is an unbelievable leader, and has been the face of the Celtics for 10 years+ . Gotta be pierce

chris webber or amare stoudemire  Though about this for a minute and I think its going to be Amare. It takes some projecting to do, because he is still young, but here what I think. The Move to NY makes him the best player they’ve had this decade IMO, and even a return to competence in NY will get him alot of Credit. Numbers wise, I dont think Webber ever scored like Amare does. Amare will never pass like Webber, but has a better playoff career already than Webber. This one made me realize what an underrated Warrior, Scorer, and Winner Amare is. They’ve never been bad since he has been there.

mitch richmond or joe johnson    Mitch Richmond. Joe Johnson isnt a number 1 to me, and wont ever be on a great team as a number 1. He is going to be a Hawk till he dies or retires with the atrocious contract he got too, dont ever see him winning. Not sure if Mitch has a title or not, but I think he was better.

mark price or kevin johnson   KJ  This was kind of a wierd one. Havent though of either of those two in a long time.

grant hill or tracy mcgrady    Hill. He has his college achievements as well, and is still doin his thing. Mcgrady is younger and couldnt get a minimum deal from anybody but the Pistons. Not as close as some would think, Hill by a longshot.

pau gasol or alonzo mourning    Can’t impartially answer this. Zo, greatest Warrior the Miami Heat have ever seen and then some. Shame about his Kidney disease, but as good a defensive Center as there has ever been. Zo Zo Zo I dont care how many titles Pau gets, he wont be a better warrior than Zo. All time great.

lebron james or tim duncan    Its gonna be Lebron. This one was a bad Comparison.

    I propose a different one.

    Lebron James or Scottie Pippen

    Tim Duncan or Hakeem Olujawon

Webber because those Kings teams had to run into Shaq and Kobe. For awhile the entire Kings offense was run through him and his passing and there were plently of times where it looked likely that he was going to lead them to the NBA finals.

Amare simply doesnt have the touch or passing that C-Webb had.

I do think I should take points away from Webber for his TV Analyst skills… half the time even he doesnt know what he’s saying

paul pierce or dirk nowitzki – Dirk

chris webber or amare stoudemire – Webber

mitch richmond or joe johnson – Richmond (likely H.O.F can’t see Johnson getting there)

mark price or kevin johnson – Johnson

grant hill or tracy mcgrady – Hill

pau gasol or alonzo mourning – Zo

lebron james or tim duncan – Duncan

I want to start off by saying great job of just not making this two guys playing the same position.

    My list…

Pierce over Dirk. I think Dirk has had the better individual career, but rings are a defining part to a lot of careers. Pierce possibly could have collected two more championships if it wasn’t due to big injuries for KG and Perkins. Some can say what about Bynum, but the best Laker team of the past 3 years (not this year) was the first one the one that met the Celtics in the finals 3 years ago. The bench was tremendous that year. That was back when Sasha and Walton were useful. Last year I don’t think the Lakers win if Perkins plays, but I can’t guarantee that a healthy Bynum would have pushed them over either.

Webber…Amazing player, especially as a passer. He was one of the top guys in the league for some time. I don’t see Amare ever being an MVP candidate. I don’t think he could crack top 10. If he has, I apologize.

Richmond…Not even close. Joe Johnson is an excellent player, but you could have actually put Richmond on a team to be the man. Still probably wouldn’t win it all, but better game. Richmond had a great career, but was another casualty of the Jordan years. People forget how good guys like Richmond and Drexler were just because Jordan overshadowed everyone.

Kevin Johnson…You could go either way. I think Mark Price is one of the most underappreciated players of his time, but I would take Johnson’s career.

Right now I would say McGrady. I think he had a longer stretch of high level play, but I think Hill is catching up with his play the last few years in PHX. Sure he’s a role player, but he is playing well while McGrady hasn’t been very effective when he does step on the court.

Right now Mourning. Big man that dominated on the boards, blocked shots and could score in the post. In my opinion Dwight Howard is the upgrade of Mourning. I do however think Gasol catches up and passes him. I think he can get another title in and I don’t see there being much of a decline in his career as he ages since his game is based a lot on skill and IQ.

Duncan…The MAN on all the title teams. When someone says Spurs you say Duncan. They build around him every year in order to compete. I would need Lebron to win quite a few titles to pass up Duncan and at least one of those either without Wade or with Wade being limited (by age or injury). If you said who I’d rather be, it’s easily Lebron. I predict a likely MVP award for Lebron, but I think Durant is going to start putting a stop to those in the next year or two.

paul pierce or dirk nowitzki- Dirk. Even though Pierce has a ring, Dirk was always the better player. Dirk is a one of a kind player who has an MVP award, and was considered one of the top players at one point, something Pierce has never been.

chris webber or amare stoudemire- Webber. He was always the man on his team and was the reason why the Kings were competitors for a few years. Stoudemire has always been in the shadow of Nash, and the second best player.

grant hill or tracy mcgrady- McGrady. I feel he was one of the best if not th best player at one point during his Magic days, and Hill was never of that caliber. But if your asking who had more carer accomplishments I guess you can argue Hill.

pau gasol or alonzo mourning- This is really a tossup. Mourning was a great player as is Gasol. Neither of them were in the best player of the game conversations, yet both of them haave been incredibly productive for their teams.

lebron james or tim duncan- LeBron is by so far the better player, bar none. Duncan has rings and its not long before LeBron gets some too. LeBron is the most unique player ever and if he retired today would be in the top player ever conversation, by me not you.

    Pierce
    – I’ll remember Dirk as being the first seven foot power forward to have a serious outside game, but I won’t remember him for winning and showing up during the biggest games of his career.

    Webber
    – Stoudemire is more explosive than Webber was, but Webber was just as good of a scorer while being a better rebounder and passer. Webber is one of the best passing big men of all-time.

    Richmond
    – Joe can run the point better than Richmond could, but Richmond was probably a better shooter and more explosive scorer. Richmond is somewhat underrated in my opinion.

    Hill
    – I’ll remember both players for having their careers damaged by injuries. Somebody above said Hill was never considered “best player in the league” caliber… Wrong. At one point, people were saying Hill was better than Pippen and close to Jordan. Hill was a walking triple double. Add in the fact Hill’s career is still going while McGrady is struggling with injuries.

    Johnson
    – Price was a great point guard (who could shoot the lights out), but I just think Johnson had the better career. Johnson was one of the most explosive little guards I’d ever seen. His dunk on Olajuwon is classic.

    Gasol
    – This one is tough. Gasol is a great offensive player with an amazing skill set, while Mourning was a tough defensive center who also had the ability to put the ball in the basket. I went with Gasol because I think he’ll end his career with more rings.

    Duncan
    – It’s hard to rank big men against wings, but I’ll go with Duncan. It’s arguable, but I think he’s the best power forward of all time. A dominant offensive player and defender, he dominated the paint at both ends. He didn’t have any weaknesses as a player. He has the career statistics and rings… One of those rings he won against LeBron in the Finals in a sweep. Even though he’s past his prime right now, he’s still putting up very good numbers. Duncan has gone about his career quietly, but it’s been all about winning.
