In three years which one of these young duos do you see being the most productive? (Feel free to rank them rather than just pick one) note: No one of the Duos has been an All-Star at this point. i.e No Westbrook or Rose.

    Cha – Augustin and Henderson

    Den – Lawson and Afflalo

    GSW – Curry and Ellis

    Ind – Collison and George

    LAC – Bledsoe and Gordon

    NYK – Douglas and Fields

    Phi – Holiday and Turner

    Pho – Brooks and Dudley

    Sac – Evans and Thornton

    Tor – Bayless and Derozan

Was – Wall and Crawford/Young (Who do you think will be the starting SG)

Curry and Ellis, specially once Curry starts to hit his prime. A back court of two +20PPG scorer duo.

    Holiday and Turner.

Everyone who was on the Turner bandwagon jumped off mid-season, give him time. Holiday showed vs the Heat that he’s not afraid of the moment.  Philly is in good hands.

@TOL23, I don’t think it took them til mid-season to jump off haha.

    This is actually a really tough pick, it’s a toss-up between Wall-Crawford, Evans-Thornton, Collison-George and Bayless-DeRozan for me.

I’ll pick Evans-Thornton on the basis that Reke’s jumper will only improve and he should make that third-year leap. Thornton is also a very good fit alongside Evans, so I’ll go with those two, but it was a real struggle to make a decision.

As much as I wanna say Douglas and Fields Ima go wit Lawson and Afflalo

The thing is numbers dont truly tell the whole story, Curry/Ellis will probably have the bets number but Lawson/Afflalo are both prototypes of their positions as long as Denver gets a go to guy at the 3, 4 or 5 spot then these 2 will be a promising backcourt with Afflalo locking up perimeter players and Lawson controlling the offense

Lawson is his best year 17pts-7ast-2stls-48%-88%-40%

Afflalo in his best year 19pts-5rebs-4ast-1stl-50%-85%-44%

Westbrook and Harden? I know that don’t start together, but they are probably the most complete backcourt duo in terms of both guys having pretty solid all around games and they have good size. Curry and Ellis can amaze you some nights, but I’m not sure if those two make it together much longer, which is probably best because it’s hard playing with an undersized backcourt all game.

I like Holiday and Turner, I’m a big Holiday fan and I feel Turner will only continue to grow (ex: his 17 and 7 with two clutch free throws in a playoff win Sun)

I also think George will be a very nice player, but I think he’ll be a 3 when all is said and done.

Curry and Ellis(already developing into quite a combo. Both are very deadly from anywhere on the court. Chemistry is surprisingly very good considering that they both are not great passers but first and foremost shooters)

Holiday and Turner (like both and I think both will be very good players, possibly all-stars)

Wall and Crawford (Crawford is the shooting gaurd, I think Young will be moved during the offseason)

Bledsoe and Gordon (starting to like this combo more and more. Bledsoe definitely needs to practice over the summer in order to be good. But the potential to be good is there. Gordon has to be one of my favorite young SG’s)

Lawson and Afflalo (this is sort of a toss up with Bayless and Derozan. I chose Lawson and Afflalo because I think Bayless has a ways to go before he is the full time starter and might actually end up coming off the bench as the 6th man. Lawson is learning and quickly and becoming quite a player. I’ve always like Afflalo for his defensive abilities.)

for me, it has to be wall and crawford (hey, and you get young backing up from the bench for free)

wall will be the best player from your whole list when all’s said and done- we’re in the age of the pure point guard now and wall trumps every guard here, with his combination of size, athletic ability and talent. crawford may not be the best player here but he can guard the 2 spot, and playing alongside a creative guard like wall, you need role players who can shoot- look at kyle korver in chicago right now. and crawford can straight-up shoot the lights out.

…reading that back, i interpreted as the two playing together- improbable over the long term. so the best pair of players: i’ll go curry and ellis- although they would be a lot better on seperate teams than together! if monta ever got an ego-check, he could be one of the best sixth men in the game. he won’t.

He had a sophomore slump last year, but Reke still has a chance to become an all star. And Thornton scored over 20ppg last year in only his second season.

Im going with Reke and Thorny too. With more defined roles they can be as explosive as any duo in the league.
