Best scoring gaurd in college basketball??
I'm a big fan of Bazz, yes he was out of shape but he still is putting up 17 points in an offense that doesn't let one guy score a ton, plus his jumpshot has gotten WAY much better; Ben Mac is just soo smooth, I think he is a safer pick than bazz as teams will always need shooters and defenders, his game is alot like Ray Allen as he has the silky smooth jumpshot, is a good rebounder for his size like Ray, and is a very good passer. His athleticism is off the charts as well
It's Shabazz, even though he has more of a SF's game. He can score from every level of the floor. Not only that but he can score points in a hurry without even dominating the ball because of his ability to get easy shots via transition buckets, quick post ups, flashes in the paint, cuts, putbacks, etc.
C.J. McCollum is the best scoring guard in college basketball.
I think his game will translate just fine, he is not a pure point guard, but he has good ball handling ability and a high IQ. I think he may be suited for a bench role, but a dynamic one, like James Harden when he was with OKC or a Jamal Crawford type player. He can score in bunches, has a strong frame and can shoot off screens, the dribble, and can take his man to the hoop. He's a jack of all trades guard, and I think he'll be a 15-17 ppg scorer when he peaks in the NBA.
Probably lower than Shabazz or Ben McLemore's career high in the NBA, but the question was the best scoring guard in college basketball, and I think he is easily the most complete.
As someone that has seen both Marcus Smart and Ben Mclemore this season in person I'm wonder who everyone thinks is the best scoring gaurd in the country an how their game will translate too the league
