The Best PG In The Draft
I think Rubio is clearly the best. There is a big debate about #2...it could be anyone: maynor, teague, curry, flynn, lawson...any one of them could be the next best guy. But, I watched Rubio lead his country's team to the silver medal vs the US in the Olympics at 18 years old. It was simply amazing. He will be a fantastic PG in the league. I think he will be only average for 2 years, but when he gets used to the NBA and gets on a weight lifting program, he will run teams like Jason Kidd.
It's a tossup between Ricky Rubio and Brandon Jennings...I feel their going to be forever linked, the way Chris Paul and Deron Williams is, on who was the best player in the draft, who's the best point guard in the draft, and who won more awards.
Yeah, my bad... not sure how I can get one international player and not the other. I'm actually a huge Jennings fan- I see him as an AI that can pass. I'm really curious to see how he developed overseas---the one thing he lacked was a consistent shot and I can imagine him running shooting drills all day in Europe.
really? I dont understand anything. He is a better athlete, more accomplished, older and stronger DJ augustine, who went top 10 in the strongest draft in several years last year. He is the best player left in the tournament, yes i know thabust will be picked higher for his size and potential but nobody can argue he is a better player. He will be in a similar area of the draft, especially if carolina beats nova or wins the nc.
OK forum, here's the real list.
1. Jonny Flynn
2. Ty Lawson
3. Stephen Curry
4. Ricky Rubio
5. Patti Mills
6. Eric Maynor
7. Brandon Jennings
8. Nick Calathes
9. Jeff Teague
10. Kalin Lucas ( Michigan State needs respect)
11. Eric Devendorf
It has got to be Ty Lawson. He just single handily showed Villanova's backcourt what an NBA caliber PG is. If Lawson had made his free throws like he normally does he has 29 points, and 8 assists to 4 turnovers. He is just sensational. There is no one better. I was one who a week ago was torn between Lawson and Flynn, but after his performance tonight, it just has to be Lawson.
1. Rubio
2. Jeff Teague
3. Jennings
Jennings game is pretty and flashy but he is soft and cannot score. A lot of good NBA point guards can score and take it to the hole. Jeff Teague is really good at that. I like how Teague is a small guy but he will dunk it on anybody. Jennings might be a better passer but he can't break the defense down or draw defenders to him to create for other teammates because he can't score, which will limit his passing ability. With Teague he will be better at drawing defenders and kicking it out to open teammates because of his driving ability that will demand a lot of attention from the defenders.
for me personally its hard 2 say ricky rubio or barndon jennings are the top guards in the class because i havent seen them play in almost a year. All i see are the pgs in college and its not easy to compare some guys you see every weekend to 2 guys u saw play a year ago. I wish i could see all those guys go at it. The draft camp will be interesting
I cant see Jennings or Maynor being good PG's in the League. Jennings doesnt have the leadership skills to be a good NBA point and Maynor lacks the necessary foot speed. IMO, Flynn would be the best PG prospect. if he comes out.
Well I think that Maynor is going to be a good NBA player. He has the ability to get where he needs to on the court. I think his ability to change speeds and just his overall knowledge of the game will make him excel on the next level. I dont think his foot speed will be and issue at all! There a lot of players in tha NBA that does not have great foot speed and excel on that level.
everybody lets stop for a second and take look at sherron collins. He came out in 2006 with a star studded PG group which included many nba players and college standouts such as "one and doners" like, Mike Conley Jr, DJ Augustin, and javaris Critttenton. the other elite PG in the class was the aforementioned Ty Lawson. He went into a star studded kansas progaram highly touted and -played 23 min per game off the bench in a backcourt that included mario chalmers, nba's miami heat starting point guard, he ranked in top 10 in assists and averaged 10 points a game and wasnt the starter. his sophmore year he was voted Big 12 sixth man of the year, dished the national championship winning assist and played stellar defense on the #1 pick derrick rose.. 2008-2009 AP All-American, Big 12 1st Team, semi finalists for the wooden naismith oscar robertson and bob cousy awards..led a team with 8 freshaman and transfers to the sweet 16. he averaged 19 points 5 assists 2 steals and 4 rebounds per game. He put up 21 20 point games and double figures in all but 2. He is tough and can get to the cup and great speed and quickness. Major leaping ability (lets not 4get the mcdonalds all american game). And if alley oops were a stat he would definitely lead the country. Handles like a yo-yo. and deep range(40% 3pt field goals). he plays through injury as exhibited his freshman year where he got an x-ray for a sprained ankle and broken bones in feet were discovered. He came back from that injury to score 20 pts in the Big 12 championship game to defeat dj augustin and kevin durant. In his 3 years he 3 Big 12 regular season titles,2conference championships,3sweet 16 appearances 2 final fours and 1 natioal chmapionship. He is also a member of the elite 1,000 point club @ kansas. So while all you sleepers sleep and doubters doubt dont say i didnt warn you about"The Kid from Chicago!"
Career Totals:
points-1330
assists-400
rebounds-300
steals-200
3P%-40
FG%-45
I would say between Mills, Jennings, and Curry
Mills and Jennings are both great passers, but need to improve their jumpshots, I think Curry will be the best, I think his court vision is amazing, and he can shoot lights out.
1. Ricky Rubio
2. AJ Price(yeah)
3. Ty Lawson
4. Jonny Flynn
5. Kalin Lucas
These are the Best PG's in the Draft. Top 5.
Brandon Jennings.....I not sure about him because he was afraid of the NCAA.
Jeff Teague good but not top 5.
now collins is a good player, but remember that woodside beat him for 36 points in the first round
but anyways
1/2- Jennings/Rubio cant decide.
3. Flynn
4. Lawson
5. Maynor

As we are getting closer to the draft and we are starting to see people declare, who would you say is the best point guard that potentially could be in this year's draft?
